As you arrive by car via Langrigge Park The Lookout Lodge is unassuming but once inside you will see why we called it the The Lookout Lodge!

There are not many properties, particularly in Bowness, from where you can enjoy an outlook like this!

The property is cleverly designed to make the most of its position.

The Lookout Lodge is elevated above Bowness village a short distance from the shores of Lake Windermere and the village center.

The house is built into the hillside. The upper floor (which is the ground floor from the driveway but first floor at the rear) comprises of the living accommodation. Due to the elevation all rooms enjoy fantastic lake views across Bowness Bay and Belle Isle towards Claife heights beyond.

Whilst enjoying breakfast in the dining area can watch the early morning mist role off the lake.

Later and throughout the day you can watch the steamers come and go from Bowness pier and the sail boats departing from the sailing club.

The lower floor is ground floor at the rear. This lower floor comprises of two double bedrooms and a bunk room together with a bathroom. The bathroom has a separate bath and shower cubical. There is also a WC on the upper floor.

The double rooms enjoy garden views whilst bunk room has views over the lake.

Outside there is a secluded garden giving access to Brantfell Road. From the garden gate it is approximately a 150 meter walk to the village center and a further 100 meters to the lake shore.

There is parking for 2 cars on the private drive.

There is a garage where bikes and canoes etc. can be safely stored.

WIFI / INTERNET CONNECTION

Please note that the property does not have it's own dedicated wifi but there is a BTFON and BTOpenzone wifi signal available at the location. This is free for BT customers. None BT customer can purchase a pass direct from BT. As an alternative to wifi there is a good G3 signal at the property.

HOTEL LEISURE CLUB:-

The Pool and Gym facilities refered to above are located at The Macdonald Old England Hotel Leisure Club. Access can be arranged to the The Macdonald Old England Hotel Leisure Club in the centre of Bowness for an additional charge (payable by purchasing a 3 or 5 day pass locally). The club is within a 5 minute walk of the Lookout Lodge. The hotel's stylish and well-equipped fitness suite includes state-of-the-art Technogym equipment a 20m pool, overlooking the lake and the Royal Windermere Yacht Club, and a Thermal Suite (sauna, steam room and ice room).

Please note that Children are 2-16 years. Under 2's go free. Children are permitted Mon-Thu 12-2pm and 3-5pm only; and Fri-Sun 12-2pm and 4-6pm only.

Bowness-on-Windermere is situated in a spectacular lakeside setting on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere, it is Cumbria’s most popular destination.

Windermere

People come to Bowness to enjoy the facilities of Lake Windermere for sailing, fishing and watersports. You can hire a rowing boat or take a trip on a steam cruiser from Bowness pier.

Mountain sports are available nearby. Whether you enjoy walking, rock climbing or mountain biking it is all on the door step. Many other activities can be arranged in the area from pony trekking to hot air balloon rides!

There are too many tourist attraction in the area to mention but some of the most popular including Wordsworth’s House, the home of Beatrix Potter at Hill Top, and The World of Beatrix Potter which is situated in the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere itself. There is a steam railway at the south end of the lake which can by accessed from Bowness by way of the lake steamers. The aquarium of the lakes can also be found here.

"Fantastic location and well maintained property in this gem of a place."

"Excellent location, views and home comfort."

The location is excellent with only a 5 min walk into Winderemere. The lodge is in a quite area, with lovely views of the lake, comfortable and well equipped with good sized rooms. The decorated christmas tree in the living room was a nice touch. The bedrooms were excellent with really comfortable beds and the good supply of toys and books available were brilliant for our two year old granddaughter and kept her very well occupied. The bathroom/shower room is very spacious with plenty of hot water. Overall the property is excellent and I would definitely rent it again. Highly recommended,

"Fantastic Place to Stay"

We stayed at Lookout Lodge over the half term weekend and I must admit we have found a gem.
The location is great, being 5 minutes walking distance from the centre of town. The rooms and house overall were of good quality and I would not hesitate recommending this to any family who wants a base to stay in Bowness.

"Great Holiday House"

The keys were posted in good time. The instructions for the house were very clear and helpful. Location is perfect, easy walk to town, we never used our car. The house itself is great. Layout, furnishing, views all good - wish I could live there!

"Love the Lookout Lodge"

The Lookout Lodge was perfect for us, the living room is cozy and comfortable with beautiful views over Bowness and and the lake.
The kitchen is ideal for nights in where cooking is an option with everything provided.
The bedrooms again were cozy and beautifully decorated with lovely comfy beds and big snuggly duvets.
The garden was ideal for our dog to stretch her legs and we even had the chance to use the garden table and chairs provided a couple of afternoons when the sun was shining.
The location is excellent only a short (but steep!) walk from the centre of Bowness, with plenty of parking out front.
We will definately stay in the Lookout Lodge on our next visit to Bowness.

"A Beautiful holiday home"

We booked the house for ourselves, two foster children and an adult placement that we look after. The house had everything we needed, and a whole lot more, as well as being beautifully clean, nicely decorated, nice secluded garden for the children and dog. The lounge and dining room had great views of the lake, we were very close to all amenities. The area is very hilly however, we're all fit so it didn't bother us at all. The central heating system wasn't very user friendly, but again, we hardly needed it. We would certainly not hesitate to book it again in the near future.
