Home description
Our Pension is ideally placed for all skiing and nightlife. Niederau is an ideal resort to learn to ski, it was in the top 5 beginners resorts worldwide, with lots of beginners slopes, all North facing and so they keep the snow longer, and they all run into the traditional Austrian village,( an important factor when you have families who might not all be skiing, but wish to sit with a drink and watch their group learning).
***NEWSFLASH*** NEW FOUR MAN CHAIR LIFT FROM VILLAGE TO BE READY FOR THIS COMING WINTER SEASON ***
Above is an uncrowded ski area suitable for beginners and intermediates, the runs come down and join the nursery slopes so groups of mixed abilities are well catered for. The free ski bus runs along the Wildschönau (wild and beautiful) valley to Auffach where there are more runs up to 1900m. The valley is a no through road, so there are no large roads or lorries, just a beautiful setting. There is lively apres ski, with ample bars and nightclubs until 4/5 am if you have the energy. For those who don't ski there is plenty of activity away from the slopes.
We have a cosy guest Stuberl which we open from 4pm for drinks, until 11pm. We also offer evening meals from our Guest Menu in the Stuberl, which also has it's own bar. In the summer (and winter) you can also sit and enjoy a drink, sunbathe and relax on the warm summer evenings in our lovely garden and terrace, looking out at the beautiful mountains surrounding the village. There are swings in the garden for young children. The Guest Stuberl is for our guests to relax and enjoy themselves with family and friends. We always have music in the evenings and sometimes DVD's on our large screen TV . There are numerous board games, cards etc . Overall we want people to feel at home in Pension Margit and we will certainly assist in arranging your holiday as much as possible.
For the skiers and boarders amongst you we have heated boot warmers in our ski room - no more damp cold boots in the mornings!

The Austrian Alps / Salzburgerland / Tyrol/Tirol region
Think of Austria and chances are you will think of the Austrian Tyrol. The Tyrol is renowned as being Austria's main holiday region, both summer and winter. It is entirely covered by breathtaking scenery, chocolate box villages and embedded tradition. The whole region has developed to cater for both winter and summer holidays. One of the most visited areas of the Tyrol is the Kitzbuehler Alps, with the most extensive ski area in Austria, some of the best known resorts, as well as some gems which are not so well known. In the heart of the Kitzbuehler Alps lies the Wildschönau valley, (translated it means wild and beautiful).
Wildschoenau / Niederau area
**** RYANAIR AND THOMSONFLY HAVE RELEASED WINTER FLIGHTS **** A high valley located up above the Inn valley ,3 miles from the town of Wörgl and above the Brixental valley, 3 miles from Hopfgarten and the famous Skiwelt. The valley is made up of four villages, Niederau, Oberau, Auffach and Thierbach. All the villages ooze traditional charm and the valley certainly lives up to its name.
The most lively of the villages is Niederau with ample apres ski but relatively uncrowded slopes, (being away from the main roads it is not overcrowded with day trippers) it really is a family resort. There is a wealth of activities both summer and winter, walking, skiing, paragliding, cross country skiing, a wonderful outdoor swimming pool, traditional museums, wonderful churches, a whole procession of festivals which in summer seem to be a weekly event. A liitle further afield you can visit the towns of Innsbruck(45 mins), Kitzbuhel(30 mins) Salzburg(80 mins).
For those seeking yet more adventure there is white water rafting, canyoning, mountain biking and climbing. Day trips to Europe's largest waterfalls Krimml and Austrias highest mountain and glacier the Grossglockner run from the village, as well as a trip to "Hitlers nest" at Berchesgarten.
**** DISCOUNTS BEING OFFERED NOW FOR FULL WEEK SUMMER HOLIDAYS *****
***NEWSFLASH*** NEW FOUR MAN CHAIRLIFT IN VILLAGE READY FOR COMING WINTER SEASON***
For skiers you can either have the local pass covering the four villages in the valley or the Kitzbuehler Alpen pass which gives access to not only the Ski Welt (10 mins and Austrias largest ski area) but also the Kitzbuehel circuit, (20 mins, try the famous Hahnenkamm downhill), as well as many others. At the end of the day return to your own little tranquil valley before going out to try the local night life. A perfect balance.

Guestbook
Hi Guys We just wanted to say thank you again for our lovely stay in Austria we really did not want to get back on the plane to come home to London. It was all down to the warm and friendly environment that you are all creating down there its like a home away from home for your guests...it gives it a special touch that a lot of other pensions just don't have so thank you. Also Jason's famous afternoon hot chocolates were a hit too:) Anyway we had a really great time and look forward to coming back next year. Warmest Regards Carly and Dave (February 2008)
Thanks to Tricia, Steve and Jason for making our Christmas break so wonderful. Steve the food was yummy!! We would recommend Pension Margit to anyone looking for a really friendly, clean and homely stay. Oh yes and they have lots of board games (we are the Monopoly champions!!) See you next season!
Rory, Anna, Lorna and Graham Sturrock
Hi Steve
Many thanks for your hospitality. We've had a great time. Also, compliments for your cooking skills. You surprised us every day. See you next year!
Roy, Judith, Jason & Raisa Haas. 2 March 2008
To all: we recommend this pension to everybody, including families with kids. We were in the pension from the 16 till the 23 of February 2008. We've had a great time, also because of the great weather and the good quality of the snow. The rooms were clean en are arranged nicely. The pension is near by the ski-lift. Each evening was a surprise what Steve, the owner, would cook for us, with success. After the dinner Steve and Jason, an Australian guy who helped in the pension, were always in for a chat which was very sociable. This was our first, but definitely not our last ski holiday! Pension Margit is a recommendation. Maybe till next year! Greetings for Steve, Tricia & Jason!
PS; is the contract still hanging on the wall?
