The Cumbria/Lake District

The Lake District conjures up images of magnificent mountains and shimmering lakes and that is exactly what visitors find here. In fact the whole county of Cumbria is home to some of Britain's most beautiful scenery.
This region has been a favourite all year round holiday destination for years and apart from its natural beauty it's also packed with lots of attractions and activities that cater for every kind of holidaymaker, from family holidays to romantic breaks for couples and from those who are looking for lots of activities and sports to those that prefer more gentle country pursuits.
The Lake District National Park lies at the heart of Cumbria and contains well known and much loved holiday destinations such as Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere, here there are lots of charming Lakeland villages to discover and visitor attractions for all the family.
The northern and western lakes have miles of untouched natural rugged beauty and rural villages as well as being home to the historic northern lakes town of Keswick with its many shops, pubs and restaurants; providing a great holiday base.
Other areas to discover include the Eden Valley, Cartmel peninsula, south east Cumbria and the Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall area; all equally beautiful and very handy for day trips into the lakes.

Close to the famous waters, including Bassenthwaite, Derwentwater and Ullswater Lakes, visitors can enjoy a day of boating, walking or sightseeing, as there are plenty of things to see and do close to a plethora of Lake District cottages.
Uldale is away from the hustle and bustle of the larger villages and towns in the Lake District and has small, local villages, including Hesket Newmarket and Caldbeck, where you will find scenic walks as well as a canopied market where you can pick up a souvenir of your stay.
There are also plenty of waterfalls, located between the peaks in the area, which are fun for both you and your dog to explore
