The Loft has just recently been fully refurbished to a high standard luxury studio apartment and is located on the top floor above our delightful, welcoming, traditional refurbished pub. Although above our pub, The Loft is very quiet and tranquil. It comprises of one double bedroom and this cosy apartment is perfect for couples coming to visit Wigan to see friends or family or get away and enjoy the nightlife, and with the train station so close, a trip to Manchester is easy to make.

If you are a football or rugby enthusiasts, we are based a mear 10 minutes walk to the DW Stadium which you can view from the studio window. The apartment has gas central heating, a kitchen comprising of all your basic amenities, a shower room and toilet, and a dining table to seat 4.

If there are more than two people in your party then the pub has 3 twin rooms available. Please enquire.

The area has many interesting places to visit, including Wigan Pier - Wallgate, Wigan, Lancashire, WN3 4EU. Telephone 01942 323666. The Pier is now one of the area's favourite visitor attractions. The Heritage Centre includes an authentic sample of Lancashire life at start of the 20th century - from school to factory; from home to the coal face. Just down the canal is the Trencherfield Mill which lays claim to the world's largest working mill steam engine. Wigan Pier Theatre Company tells the story of the Pier and Mill with dramatic performances in a range of settings.

Walking and Cycling Trails of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal

There are three trails along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. These tours form part of the wider Manchester's Countryside Initiative which in partnership with Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham, looks to raise awareness of and encourage visits to the rural attractions of North Manchester - which offers over 500 square miles of wonderful landscapes, historic and picturesque waterways, hidden gems of villages, quaint places to eat and drink and fantastic opportunities for rural pursuits, whether walking or cycling.

The Wigan trails offer tow-path based routes combining natural history and heritage. They include: Wigan Pier to Arley Hall, Wigan Pier to Appley Bridge and Wigan Pier to Leigh Bridge.

"Almost a home away from home"
