Please note electricity is payable by the guest via a coin meter. This is non profit making and to keep running costs low we have installed high efficiency "mica panel" electric radiators in the lounge and bedrooms.

We feel "Cornish Sea Views" offers families a great slice of the Cornwall holiday experience at a very competitive price. Because we run the bungalow ourselves we avoid expensive overheads which helps us to keep the prices low. We also offer a more personal holiday experience as you speak to us, the bungalow owners rather than a call centre agent.

The new "Sustrans National Cycle Network" has recently been extended to include Widemouth Bay. Local bike hire is available in Bude.

"Great View"

The accommodation had everything you could need. Access was easy and the view was lovely. We went in October, so everything was closed, so No on site drink or food....So be prepared, as closest shop was a drive down A39 towards Newquay. The Electric Panel heating is not ideal and the electric meter can be quite hungry, but we knew that before going so was well prepared......Still Great Value for what is offered. Found TV pretty confusing to navigate through all the different remote controls, and some instructions would have been handy? Maybe a LIST letting us know where everything was located would be good, as I never found the iron and Ironing Board till last day...(It was in one of the bedroom cupboards) Path to beach through Wooden door has keypad located on beach side......Pin Number not known, this would have been handy too! I went for jog one evening using this route but came back on the road....What a Hill!

Many thanks for your feedback on your stay, it is so helpful for us to know how we can improve our service. We have included in our guest pack details about the ironing board and also the pin number for the gate to the beach (we weren't aware this had been fitted so thank you!). The heating we have made as economical as possible by installing modern panel heaters, all appliances are A rated and windows are double glazed and the loft we filled with insulation! Our rates in the Winter months are very economical to allow for heating costs. So we hope this helps others who might be considering to stay. "Lovely but be aware in colder months!"

We booked a last minute break at this bungalow, which is well equipped, spacious and clean. The location is excellent for Widemouth Bay which you have a superb view of from the lounge and master bedroom window. You have to pay for the electricity via a coin meter which accepts £1 and £2 coins, when we were there for some reason the £2 slot did not register when I dropped a coin into it! The other thing is when we stayed it was very cold outdoors and on arrival at the bungalow it was not much warmer indoors so we used the wall heaters. We were surprised to find that in the first four hours at the property the electricity cost £12 from using the heaters. There was no other way to heat and as it was so cold we had no choice but to keep feeding the meter. We eventually only used one heater in the lounge (there are two) and one in one bedroom that we were using on a low setting and this was costing £10 for the meter per day. There is an electric shower to have hot showers but if you want a bath there is an electric switch in the kitchen, we didn't use this so cannot comment on the cost of that. I have raised the matter of the cost of the electric with the owner of the property so this review will be no surprise and he has responded positively. The rents are quite low for weeks during January but do consider the cost of electric on top especially if you have to use all three bedrooms. I would have no reservations in recommending this property during the milder weather in Winter and all through the other seasons but be aware during the colder times of year unless you are a polar bear!

Thank you for your feedback on your stay and sorry you weren't completely satisfied which is what we always strive for. The weather whilst you were in the property was unfortunately particularly cold and so the cost to heat the property was higher than is typical for this time of year. We do try to do our best to minimise the electricity costs for our guests and the property is fully double glazed, brick built with a cavity and the loft is fully insulated. All the appliances are A rated and the electricity is charged at a standard rate. We will add in to our literature some guidance on typical electrical costs to help families budget their stay. In the summer months this is typically £5 per day but as you pointed out in very cold weather this can reach £10. It is worth mentioning that including electricity costs your stay was £183 (£99 + £84 electric) and we can hand on heart say that we feel this is great value for a modern property with panoramic sea views that sleeps 6. "Very Comfortable with lovely views"

The bungalow is open plan but was very cosy, everything you need is available for your comfort and it felt like home. The views are lovely and we could see the satelite dishes at Morwenstow on a good day. Although being out of season the Bar on the site was open for the Foootball on Sky the weekend we were there which pleased my husband. Everyone we encountered on the site were very friendly. It was only a short drive to the A39 and then you could go left back into North Devon and we took our dogs for a lovely run along the beach at Westward Ho and a right turn took us down further into North Cornwall and we enjoyed trips to Boscastle and Rock. The beach at Widemouth is excellent for giving the dogs a good run. We have already booked again for next year.

"A spacious, homely bungalow with superb view over Widemouth Bay."

James & Lucy have provisioned their chalet bungalow thoughtfully and tastefully so that you have everything you need to be comfortable during your stay. It was easy to find with its position so close to the sea and the clear instructions provided. The place was nice and warm in the cool November evenings with the panel heating on and there was more than enough room to relax in with a large lounge/diner space that looked out through the picture window onto Widemouth Bay. Although the holiday village was closed up for the season we enjoyed eating out a couple of nights at the Widemouth Manor Hotel and the Bay View Restaurant, both of which provided good food in and atmosphere. You can also get great fresh eggs and spuds from Fred just over the road from the car park! Whatever time of year you visit you will not be disappointed you came. David

"Lovely location"

The cottage was well equipped and clean and plenty of room. The beds were very comfortable. The views of the bay and sea from the windows were lovely. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cottage.
