Widemouth Bay makes an ideal holiday location for all the family, being one of the easiest accessible beaches in North Cornwall. With its one mile of golden sands backed by low cliffs and grassy fields Widemouth offers a variety of seaside activities. Baywater gives comfortable and relaxing accommodation for up to 10 people with 1 double bedroom with en-suite, 1 double room with King size bed, 1 family room with 1 double and 1 single bed and a triple bedroom with 3 single beds , family bathroom and separate cloakroom with WC. The property has delightful countryside views and glimpses of the sea, from the front and a peaceful and secluded South facing back garden. A large airy summer house with 6 x 3 pool table means you can have your own little pub in the back garden!
The local shop for bread, fresh fish, newspapers, pasties, fish and chips etc is less than a 10 minute walk away. The Bay View Pub just a couple of minutes further where you can enjoy a fine meal or drink overlooking the Bay. Bude is a 4 mile drive along the stunning coastal road where you can find several of the big supermarkets, many pubs, restaurants, banks etc.

"Perfect bungalow in perfect location"
I loved this bungalow. I had the expectation that it might be a bit shabby because the price was so good for a four bedroom bungalow so near to the sea, but on arrival I was delighted by how lovely it all was. A nice drive, nice decking which gives the outside area a holiday feel whatever weather, nice big bright kitchen dining room with great views, the bathrooms were modern and tastefully done, the heating worked well, it was comfortable and cosy, perfect garden with an outer room with pool table (where we enjoyed some good nights in playing pool), the rooms were all comfortable and spacious. We had enough room to put up travel cots in the bedrooms, one of the rooms is clearly a garage conversion but it makes up for it in size. The bungalow had a really lovely atmosphere and we all felt comfortable there and didn't want to leave. I'd definitely book it again and recommend it to anyone and everyone. For the price you pay, it is absolutely perfect.

The Cornwall region
North Cornwall - 60 miles of dramatic Atlantic Heritage Coast, cliffs, coves, market towns, country houses, historic castles, including King Arthurs' at Tintagel. From quiet nooks and coves to excellent and exciting surfing beaches. All surrounded by stunning coastal scenery and North Cornwall has officially some of the cleanest beaches in Cornwall.
Widemouth Bay just 3 miles South of Bude is an idyllic location for a proper traditional family holiday. The beach is vast and sandy but has fantastic rock formations either end for the children to explore. The beach is fully lifeguarded all summer and has some of the best surf in the area.
There is a superb local shop for all your daily needs. Fresh fish counter, freshly made pasties, fish and chips, Clotted cream etc. The local pub, The Bayview Inn has won many an acolade and has stunning views of the bay whilst you sip on a pint of scrumpy!
Bude is a wonderful seaside town with 3 large supermarkets, Sainsburys, Morrisons and Co-op. Many restaurants and pubs, banks, a golf course, riding stables and 2 great beaches, Summerleaze and Crooklets.
This stretch of coastline is steeped in the smuggling history of times before and not far south of Widemouth Bay you can find some amazing little inlets and coves.

"Perfect holiday home for the perfect price!"
I adore this bungalow, so much so that (if funds permitted) I would want to buy it straight away! For the price you pay, it's absolutely perfect. We have stayed there twice this year, both times … More

"Great Location - tired and needs a good clean!"
Presently staying here, brilliant location less than 5 minutes to beach. Can sleep 10, however the beds are very uncomfortable and the linen tired and stained, the hot water is unreliable and general … More
Thank you for the kind comments in your review. I do, however, find it very bewildering that you had time to sit and write this review whilst staying at the property, but did not have the time or courtesy to contact either the caretaker or myself to see if any of the issues troubling you could be rectified!
I would also like to point out that you arrived at the bungalow at 10.30 in the morning, when the last group of 10 guests had only just vacated. The caretaker did tell me that he had your family complete with children running around him for over an hour, and that you had asked how quickly he could finish the change over, so that you could move in!
The time stated on the arrival details is from 4pm so that the cleaner has sufficient time to get everything ready. The bungalow has been running at full capacity since May and I do appreciate that after having so many people use and sometimes unfortunately abuse, the property, that some aspects may be looking a little tired.
If you had asked about the hot water, plumbers would have been there the same day and if you were not happy with the standard of the cleaning you could have requested it to be done again.
We do try our best to offer good standards and service to make our guests holiday enjoyable. However, we do need to be informed of things to be able to rectify them and not just have to read them in reviews!

"Potentially beautiful bungalow but tired and run down."
Our first impression of Baywater was a delightful bungalow just a few minutes away from Widemouth beach. There was ample parking and plenty of room for 10 of us plus a baby. However we soon discovered… More
Thank you for your review of Baywater. Firstly I would like to point out that the caretaker was only informed and asked about the pool cues and the toaster. These were replaced as soon as possible. At no time whilst these guests were there did they mention the chairs, which only needed a few screws tightned, or the pillows or bedding problems.
If they had been mentioned the caretaker would have fixed the chairs, which took him five minutes and replaced the bedding and purchased more pillows.
The first contact I had from these guests was on 5 days after they had vacated the bungalow!
It is rather like going to a restaurant, eating your meal and then sending a bad review nearly a week later!
The caretaker is always available by phone and I am always contactable by email. If these issues had been pointed out to us they would have been dealt with swiftly and with no questions asked.
I appreciate the kind comments and happy that the family had great weather for their stay. But I do always ask guests to let either the caretaker or myself know if they have any problems as and when they occur so that they can be sorted as we do only want our guests to have a great holiday.

Firstly and foremost I would like to say that I really sympathise with these guests and the fact that they were so understanding about the boiler problem when they were there. It was a terrible shame that this happened on the 24th of December, when nothing was open, otherwise, the boiler would have been repaired the same or next day.
However, I would like to point out that this problem was in no way down to a lack of maintenance and in fact the boiler had been fitted with a brand new pump in April and had its full annual service. This pump, which is still under guarantee, had for some reason failed. As anybody with a car will appreciate, that even when fully maintained things do go wrong with absolutely no warning or reason! And when it happens the day before Christmas there was nothing else that could have been done except to supply the heaters and offer our sincere apologies, which I did by email twice, but never got a reply, just this review!
The property was made ready for them a couple of days in advance with a Christmas tree supplied by us, to facilitate an early arrival. When this was done, the heating and hot water were all working perfectly, as it had been for the previous guests in December.
As for the other comments these will all be looked into and rectified immediately, but most of them could have been taken care of, if reported at the time, which they were not.
Unfortunately Cornwall had been hit by the terrible storms over that period and I did feel relieved that we still had a games room in the back garden but can only apologise for the water that managed to force its way in and caused a few puddles!
Once again, I do feel very sorry for these guests and do appreciate the kind comments they made about Baywater as well.

Just spent a lovely week at Baywater. Property was clean, welcoming and well equiped. Situated just minutes away from the sea. Grandchildren loved pool table. Would definitely recommend this property. Only downside ... we had only booked a week!!!

"Expexcted it to be good but in fact was alot better!"
Better than we all thought, nicely tucked away but within easy walking distance of beach and pub, lovely location at Widemouth Bay which is an excellent beach great for sitting around, rockpooling or surfing. The Bungalow was perfect for us and Tracey was very helpful when we arrived. All had a great time and would definitely stay again. :)

"Fantastic holiday, lovely place."
Upon arriving at Baywater (2 hours early due to our enthusiasm to start our holiday) we called the caretaker and she directed us to the key. What followed was pleasant surprise followed by pleasant surprise. The kitchen/dining /lounge area is very bright and spacious and of a good standard. The kitchen itself is a good size, nicely fitted with all the appliances of home, the breakfast bar has a lovely view with rolling hills and the sea to the far left. The dining table easily seats six adults and backs on to the lounge area which consists of two sofas and LCD TV. The lounge area has french doors which lead out to the decked patio area and garden with games room. The main hallway, leads from the dining room area to the bedrooms, wc and bathroom. The bedroom we stayed in was equipped with an en-suite shower room with with toilet, this is all finished to a good standard. Our friends occupied the other bedrooms and shared the family bathroom, again, finished to a good standard. The second bedroom is situated down two steps in to (what would have once been) the garage. It contains a double bed and one single bed. This room also contained the broom cupboard and washing machine cupboard. The third bedroom is a standard double room and the fourth room contained three single beds. The house generally was excellent for our needs, our party contained three groups (3 couples, 2 with young toddlers) It was spacious, easy to clean and comfortable, especially given that linen and towels were also included. The only fault of the whole place was that the separate toilet was awaiting a replacement part but this was not a problem as we were well informed of this and there were two other toilets for use.
Outside there is a large driveway with parking for plenty (we had three cars in our group and there was easily space for double that), rear garden with lawn and decking. The games room is situated in the corner of the rear garden and is a massive bonus. It is basically a free standing conservatory with laminate flooring, a pub pool table (free to play) a poster of some VW campervans and a decorative surf board. I cannot stress how good this was, we spent most early evenings out there once the babies were in bed, chatting and playing pool.
Above all, the location is the real trump card. A three minute walk and you are standing on the gorgeous Widemouth Bay beach. The bay itself has a number of restaurants/pubs and a small shop. We ate out at the Bay View Inn and were very impressed with the food and local beer/cider. The town of Bude is a five minute drive/one hour walk away. and has bakeries, shops, cafe's and two supermarkets.
Overall I can't fault this place, it was really good value for money and the location was excellent . I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. We also found that communication with owner was very easy and we received our deposit back swiftly on our return home.
