Guestbook for Sunset Loft
"Sunset Loft"
Sunset loft is a fantastic holiday apartment. We stayed with 4 adults and 4 children aged 10 mths - 3. The apartment is clean and designed very well. Our children were safe at all times and the facilities were great. The hot tub on the outdoor roof terrace was brilliant as was the giant cinema projector tv. Also the tv had sky plus with movies !!!
The kitchen was very modern with everything you would want. Whitstable is a great place with great shops and places to eat. We will come back again in the future
also the welcome pack of wine fresh orange popcorn coffee fresh bread etc is a lovely touch.
5 star holiday apartment
"Unsurpassed quality in every way!"
This is my second stay at Sunset Loft, following an equally wonderful experience at Honey Cottage a year or so before. The quality, comfort and decor of the Loft were exceptional, and I loved the general layout of the property too.
It was inexplicably tranquil despite being within the bustle of a town, but at the same time it meant that we were in walking distance of just about every amenity we could possibly need for a stress-free holiday. We certainly didn't want for anything at the Loft itself, but its location meant we could go shopping, dining or even get a sneaky pizza without going near the car (which, for people who enjoy a lunchtime glass of wine or two, is a big bonus!). I also have a childhood-induced love of the sea, so being able to wander down for a quick breath every day was wonderful (it was well worth the wind-blown hair afterwards!).
Ultimately we would find it hard not to pick the Loft or another of the Kent Cottage Holidays properties over any other hot tub break. The only thing that prevents us from immediately booking with KCH every time we need an holiday is their extreme popularity! The evil part of me wonders if I should lie in my review in the hope that it'll free up more slots, but if anything it just makes it even more special when we do visit.
I don't know how the property is kept in such good order, but please keep going! As a shout-out to other nearby businesses who made our stay even better, I highly recommend the Pearsons arms in Whitstable (a 5 minute taxi ride from the Loft) for fantastic seafood (with very unusual beers - chocolate?!) and the best view of a Kent sunset you'll ever see, UK weather permitting. Also the Crab & Winkle a stone's throw down the beach from Pearsons - fine dining overlooking the boats that caught your dinner.
"Fantastic, comfortable stay...would highly recommend!"
We went for a getaway weekend to relax and eat great food. We arrived at the lodge, it was very close to the station (the cab was only £3!). The accommodation was clean, luxurious and spacious! We loved the hot tub and the projector screen (such as treat!). It was very convenient for getting to Whistable centre (15 min walk). All in all a fab place...we will be back with friends!
"Lovely apartment in Whitstable"
Excellent quality apartment situated in a great location. Facilities, most notably the huge cinema screen and hot tub were awesome. Tv's with DVD player in bedroom also great. Kitchen facilities very good, everything included. Little suprise at the beginning withthe hamper and goodies, put a smile on both our faces..thanks alot!! Would recommend to families and couples as facilities make it very romantic.
"Relaxing comfort"
We entered Sunset Loft from a very cold Whitstable into warm and cosy surroundings. The apartment was immaculately clean. The fresh flowers were a great touch for someone who loves fresh flowers! The bed was very comfortable, we slept very well. The decor is modern without being cold. The living room wall size TV was something we had never before experienced - almost like our own cinema. All mod cons in the kitchen and all immaculate. The best thing was the hot tub which we loved - a great relaxing asset!
Michelle kept us up to date with all the booking experience and we have no complaints here.
There is a bus outside to either Whitstable (less than 1 mile I think) or Herne Bay (about 5 miles). We visited museums in both towns. Ate well at Sunday lunch at the Lobster shack, which was reasonable value. Canterbury is close by and full of places to visit - the Cathedral is expensive but well worth it.
All in all a great weekend.
Thank you.
"A perfect weekend..."
I booked Sunset Loft for my brother's stag do, and it was the ideal place. Walking in we were all impressed, and loved the 96" screen in the lounge! Watching Total Wipeout in the hot tub was something I never thought I'd do... fabulous. The flat itself is modern, clean, warm and very spacious, with a well equipped kitchen, comfy sofas and a great roof terrace with a gas BBQ which we used Friday night. There are a couple of golf courses nearby, and we went clay pigeon shooting Saturday morning which was fabulous fun. All in all the weekend couldn't have gone better. Thanks to Michelle for making the booking process so very simple, and for the lovely email I received only a few hours after leaving thanking us for our stay. I would heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for either a quiet, romantic weekend away or with a group of friends for a chilled, fun weekend. Thanks again!
"christmas without family stress"
We stayed here with our 3 teens and a baby, there was enough space for every one. We liked the hot tub very much. The kitchen is very well equipped, we prepared our Christmas dinner !The loft is very clean, beds are good. Near the beach, must be fantastic in summer!!
"Wonderfull Whitstable apartment"
The service provided by Michelle was second to none. The apartment was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. Everything we needed was provided in the apartment. The location was perfect. We walked along the seafront to Whitstable and walked back along the main road, this only took about twenty minutes, the hot tub took away any tiredness. All in all "perfect"
"Blown away by the Experience"
The apartment was nothing but excellence!
Everything right down to the little details had been carefully thought about. Decorated in a contemporary style and yet very homely - the apartment had everything, from a gorgeous lounge to a kitchen that was beautiful, very functional and equipped with a luxurious coffee machine (very nice way to start the day indeed), which went hand in hand with the coffee and other treats in our welcome hamper - that left us feeling valued and spoilt.
The owners were very helpful and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was the best it could be for our time away.
Would highly recommend it to anyone, and would ask that you look after it during your stay as we will defiantly be going back.
"Loved the Loft"
Stayed here on a short break and really enjoyed it. The Loft is so comfortable and you feel at home straight away. Everything you should need is in the Loft from Sky+ Box to the hot tub! Michelle and Chris were both really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend and stay here again without hesitation
"Great Whitstable apartment"
This was a great apartment for our holiday and made a great base for exploring the northeast of Kent. The apartment was very modern and well equipped and everything was very clean and comfortable. It's also fairly spacious for a holiday apartment. It had all the amenities you could ask for - the projection TV was especially nice. It was also close to shops, Atms, a nice pub, and the seafront. We would definitely stay here again.

Oyster festival Date of stay 23.07-26.07.10
Sunset Loft was the perfect place to stay during the Whitstable Oyster Festival this summer. The rooms were beautifully clean and airy and the hot tub was fantastic, although, sadly, we didn’t discover the underwater disco lights until right at the end of the weekend!
Highlights of the festival were definitely the Morris dancing and beer festival. But if you’re visiting at a different time of year, we would particularly recommend the Crab and Winkle seafood restaurant on the harbour and the Pearsons Arms, just round the corner

"fantastic relaxing and romantic time"
We stayed here for a weekend in June as a surprise for my partners 30th and what a great weekend it was we had a truly amazing time. We felt very much at home and cosy. The hot tub was superb and very romantic at night looking at the stars. The bed was extremley comfortable and we did not want to come home after a very relaxing and refreshing stay. We took a lovely walk to the beach and the shops we also had some great meals in the tapas and a french style restaurant. We will most definatley come back again and hopefully very soon. Michelle was great and made our stay perfect x
"Blissful Birthday Stay" June 2010
My boyfriend and I stayed in Sunset Loft for my recent birthday. The whole stay was completely blissful. We enjoyed sunsets on the beach, walks down the coast both east and west, lovely fresh scallops from Whitstable fish market but couldn't stay away from the flat too long as it was just so comfortable and everything you could possibly want for a relaxing short or long break. The hot tub was immense and although it rained on my birthday we still managed to get some tub time! Thank you for a brilliant stay, we hope it won't be too long until we can return.
"Sunset Loft Review" May 2010
Absolutely nothing but rave reviews to follow here, thanks to Michelle and Chris keeping such a beautiful apartment in the perfect location. The quality, comfort and decor of the Loft was exceptional, and is probably in the most convenient location of any hot tub holiday my partner and I have been on previously. Being in the bustle of a small seaside town, you would expect the Loft to be a less tranquil spot than other more remote holiday homes, but you couldn't be more wrong. It was in fact very tranquil on the balcony (some nights eerily so, when all you could hear was the far off cry of a seagull!), but at the same time the location meant that we were in walking distance of just about every amenity we could possibly need for a stress-free holiday. We could stock up on our groceries, experience fine dining (try the Crab & Winkle or Pearson's Arms in Whitstable - well worth it) or even get a sneaky take-away without going near the car. It was also a real treat to be a short walk from the sea, what with us being thoroughly land-locked at home. I don't know how Michelle and Chris keep their properties to such a high standard (Honey Cottage is in the same premier league), but I hope they keep it going!
I went to Sunset loft with 7 other girls to enjoy a relaxing and fun girly weekend.
We had first been attracted to the loft because of the hot tub, and it didn't dissappoint. When we first arrived we were so impressed with the way the flat looked and how well presented it was, the welcome hamper is a very nice touch too. The hot tub looked amazing and it didn't take us long to get in there and try it out.
Sunset loft had everything we were looking for, the shops are very close so we stocked up on food and wine from the local tesco , (although a few basics were already provided form the owners), and ordered local take away that we ate whilst ejoying the heat from the log fire and watching chick flicks on the huge projector screen.
We venture to whitstable high street and beach on the sunday daytime, the town is beautiful and has quite a oldy worldy friendly feel to it, with lots of interesting shops, we particularly liked the pink flamigo for clothes and bag etc. The beach is well kept and we enjoyed walking along it.
Overall We all had an amazing weekend and Michelle and Chris, the owners of the lof,t were just a pone call away and quite happy to help if we had any questions.
Definatley recommend this well presented flat to stay in for your time in whitstable, we didn't want to leave. 24.10.09-26.10.09
A very lovely apartment indeed and like many others, we found that it was a convenient base to explore the town from. We made full use of the facilities including the barbeque, hot tub, and projection TV. As we didn't drive, the proximity to the rail station (15-20mins walk), tesco express, town centre etc was a big plus. We had lunch at the Crab and Winkle with its fresh selection of seafood. Highly recommended! 16.10.09-18.10.09
Superb apartment in an ideal location for exploring the area. It was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated with great extras such as 96" projection screen TV. and hot tub.
All rooms were very comfortable and a real pleasure to return to after a day sightseeing.
The welcome basket and flowers were a real nice touch and appreciated.
We will certainly be returning in the future and will definitely be recommending it to friends and family.
An enjoyable holiday in a wonderful apartment, strongly recommended for anyone visiting the area.
02.10.09-09.10.09
"Fabulous apartment and a perfect location for exploring the Kent coastline. The apartment was very spacious and provided plenty of room for our party of 6 plus 2 babies! All rooms were finished to a very high standard with no expense spared!!!! this included a fabulous projector screen televsion and an amazing roof terrace with hot tub and barbecue. Every last detail was catered for. Michelle was fantastic and made us all feel very welcome with a fantastic welcome pack on arrival. I would strongly recommend the apartment to anyone considering visiting Whitstable.08.08.09-15.08.09
The apartment was absolutely lovely, especially the hot tub! The whole place was decorated perfectly and had all the little extras you could want including a welcome basket, selection of d.v.d's and board games. It was very spacious and would be perfect for everyone from families to couples on a short break.
The Loft was a great base to explore the surronding area. There was plenty to do in Whitstable which is only a short walk away and had some great restaurants (try the tapas). It is also a good base for exploring around Kent with Canterbury within biking distance.
Overall we had a wonderful stay and will be recommending it. We are looking forward to a return visit as a week just wasn't enough 01.08.09-08.08.09
We stayed here for the August bank holiday and loved every second. We had planned to go out exploring but the apartment was so nice that we found ourselves spending the majority of our time there.
The bbq and hot-tub are a great combination and the bed gave us some of the best nights sleep we have had in ages. Mind you, perhaps the bottle of wine in the welcome hamper helped that too!
A great location for walks along the beach, mornings wandering around Whitstable and days to surrounding tourist hotspots such as Canterbury. We have every intention of returning just as soon as we can think up a special occasion to warrant another trip away!
28.08.09-31.08.09
Hi michelle, just a quick message to say thank you for providing such an excellent apartment for our stay, everything was perfect, even the weather! thank you so much again for a lovely break may try honey cottage next time with in-laws. many thanks patrick 17.08.09-21.08.09
We had a fantastic holiday in this lovely, well equipped flat with all our needs catered for.Great customer service from Michelle and Chris who provided a great welcome hamper. Our kids loved the 96in' projector screen and we really appreciated relaxing in the hot tub after our trips into London-rail links excellent and reliable.Whitstable is a lovely town and Canterbury is also worth a visit with good selection of shops and restaurants.Slight problem with early morning traffic noise if you're a light sleeper. However would be happy to recommend to friends and family. 20.07.09-01.08.09
Very good standard accommodation with excellent welcome hamper and high level of finish in all rooms. The children hardly left the hot tub and the adults enjoyed it too! The location looked uninviting from the outside, but once inside, we were delighted with the very high standard of fittings and thoughtful touches, such as additional towels for the hot tub and a very well equipped kitchen. It is a 3 minute walk to the beach and is well planned. We had a lovely holiday and I would reccommend it again. The tub and terrace were lovely and it was just a shame the weather stopped our planned BBQ on new gas BBQ; very well arranged outside area. Excellent standard. 17.07.09-19.07.09
"Lovely break in this newly refurbished and decorated contemporary apartment. The front bedrooms were big and airy and well furnished, loved the superking sized bed!
Kitchen was fab, all new and pristine, with everything you need if you feel like eating in and watching a film in the "home cinema" or relaxing in the hot tub after.
Lovely to be so near to the sea and not too far to trot into Whitstable with the quaint shops and restaurants.
Thanks to Michelle & Chris for looking after us again. We had high expectations after staying at Honey Cottage, we were not disappointed and felt it was good value for the cost. 13.07.09-17.07.09
