Home description

The artist owner has given this lovely holiday house a fun stylish twist to make your stay both comfortable and enjoyable.

The ‘upside down’ layout with L shaped sitting room and kitchen to the first floor and the bedrooms to the ground floor make the most of its position just one block in from the sea. Shells are a big theme throughout the cottage, with the outside entrance archway covered in shells, pretty glass and mirrors and this continues throughout the inside of the cottage.

The bedrooms are a mix of painted wooden floors and pretty Cath Kidston inspired prints with imaginative accessories to complete the light airy feel of the house.

There is parking for two cars (three at a pinch!) on the driveway – a real advantage in the height of the season!

The South East England / Kent region

Kent is in the South-East of England and consists of many important districts such as Dartford, Maidstone, Ashford, Canterbury and Dover.

Arts:
Canterbury inspired Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and William Golding worked in Maidstone.

Transport:
Kent is easily accessible by road, sea or rail. Indeed, Dover is the closest point to France and remains a hub for ferry travel to the rest of Europe.

Tourist Attractions:
Canterbury Cathedral
Chartwell, Winston Churchill's home
Deal Castle
Dover Castle
Leeds Castle
Rochester Castle
Coldrum Stones
Brockhill Country Park

This is an area of the UK which contains many walking and cycling routes as well as over 500 years of history.

Whitstable area

Whitstable is renowned for its trendy shops, art galleries but above all its oysters! The festival in the summer is a must! There are a large selection of pubs and bars on the sea front taking full advantage of the very English mix of sailing, fishing boats and visitors enjoying the scene. The pretty town is steeped in history and the pastel shades of the cottages all along the beach and the multi coloured beach huts make this one of the most sought after destinations on the coast in Kent.

If you can tear yourself away – Canterbury is only 6 miles away with its wonderful medieval centre, the cathedral and many other roman and historic museums and places to visit.
