Cottage | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Bexley Cottage just went through a total refurbishment. Everything has been thought, designed and built in order to offer guests a cosy and relaxing atmosphere, with a very high standard of equipment and furnishing throughout.
The house is brilliantly located in the Conservation Area, in a quiet back street, literally 100 yards from the harbour, beach and vibrant high street.
Downstairs is the heart of the house, with a fabulous open kitchen/dining area, as well as a separate lounge and access to a courtyard.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, a family bathroom and a spacious attic room, converted for the owner's use. It can sleep up to 8 people (provided 4 people -or a family- share the attic, which is low ceiling with steep stairs).
It will make the perfect retreat for friends, couples or families alike.
The cottage is immaculately presented and offers everything you may need to enjoy your stay, from a wide range of DVDs to state of the art cooking material, not to mention kid's toys.....

The South East England region
Kent is a beautiful county with rolling hills and beaches, the sea is pleasant for swimming in the summer and great for winter walks.
There is a great ride which takes you to Canterbury on the Crab and Winkle Way - once upon a time the railway line which took fish and oysters to London for sale at market, now set up for walkers and riders to enjoy themselves free from the hassle of traffic.
Only 1h30min from London (road/train), Whitstable is famous for its long association with locally caught seafood and in particular oysters, it has one of very few remaining working harbours with a small fleet of fishing boats, that catch fish daily for sale in the harbour fish market.
Many of the towns very good restaurants serve excellent fish dishes, but also cater for meat fans and vegetarians.
The countryside nearby is great for walking and cycling with very little to interrupt you between Whitstable and Canterbury except woodland.

"Fantastic house for the seaside sociable"
We rented Bexley Cottage for a family Christmas and it was perfect for the six of us. We loved the sociable kitchen diner and cosy front room, the beautiful bathroom and excellent finish throughout. Great location too, just minutes from the high street and beach. Excellent comms from the management company made the whole process very straightforward.

"Absolutely beautiful cosy cottage on a quiet street just minutes walk from the harbour and high street"
This cottage is slightly smaller than it looks in the pictures however that was perfect for me as I stayed with one other person and so we didn't feel like we were rattling around in a huge house meant for six people. The house is on a quiet street just off the harbour and the high street so within very easy walking distance of everything you could want. Its really well finished and whoever decorated has certainly put a lot of thought into it (even if some of the master bedroom decor was for a more alternative taste!)
The cottage was excellent value for money and the customer service throughout was great. We did have an issue sourcing some coal for the fire (much more difficult than you'd imagine outside barbecue season) and also there were a few essentials (e.g. handsoap) missing when we arrived but the owner has since assured me this was most unusual and given the high standard of everything else I can certainly believe him.

"A pleasure for our leisure."
We were surprised to be told that access to the property on the Saturday wasn't allowed until 4pm but on questioning this were told that as no one had booked the cottage the week before we were arriving we could enter from 1pm. I would have found this disappointing and difficult to feed & get kids to bed & unpack otherwise.
The location of the cottage was great with easy access to the harbour and beaches and high street. We managed to get lucky and find a parking spot on the road every day too.
I have fed back to the owner that there was a real lack of storage space. All the cupboards upstairs were full so there were only 2 drawers to put a weeks clothing for 5 people in. This meant clothes had to be piled on the floor which was not ideal in the kids rooms as they subsequently got kicked every where. Although a nice thought having a basketful of toys at the end of the bunks a chest of drawers would have been preferable as we bought our own toys. So too in the kitchen. Other than the fridge there was no where to put food. The coffee machine looked great but we had no idea what pods it took and bought the wrong ones. An information book on the house and area would have been appreciated.
The free pass to Leeds castle for the family was a lovely touch though and saved us quite a few pounds!
If you want a sandy beach which Whitstable doesn't offer then try Westgate further down (Herne Bay is pretty run down) which also has great rock pools when the tide is out or Margate with the great new Turner Collection building.

"Wonderful weekend in Whitstable."
With sun predicted for the weekend, my family and I (2 adults and 2 young children) decided to book a last minute break to the seaside.
We were lucky enough to find Bexley Cottage - a lovely double fronted Victorian cottage in a fabulous location in the heart of Whitstable.
We drove down on Friday night and picked up keys with ease. A Parking space was available outside the property and that was the last time we needed the car.
Beds are very comfortable and the property is tastefully decorated. My favourite rowasps the open plan kitchen diner, which opened onto a small courtyard where you could read the papers over a coffee in the morning.
You are a short stroll from everything whitstable has to offer, which made this property all the better.
I'd strongly recommend visiting Samphire for breakfast - excellent range and quality.
Overall a lovely stay at Bexley Cottage - we hope to stay again soon.

"Lovely Cottage in the heart of Whitstable"
Myself and 7 friends visited Bexley Cottage this weekend. It's a charming place to stay equipped with all the essentials you would possibly need. There was plenty of space for the 8 of us and only having the one bathroom wasn't an issue. The cottage is right in the heart of Whitstable within easy reach to the seafront and local shops etc..

"Wonderful cottage with a great taste"
I visited the cottage with my friends in May for a weekend. The cottage was really cute and had a great taste. Everything was very tidy and clean when we arrived. I was slightly worried that there is only 1 toilet/shower but it wasn't an issue at all. We had a great time there and I really hope I can visit the cottage again.

"Beautiful Cottage in the heat of Whitstable"
I stayed at Bexley Cottage with a group of 7 friends over the May Bank Holiday weekend. The cottage exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely beautiful.
The Kitchen/Diner was the real gem, a beautiful space with lots of special touches, it was great area to sit, eat, drink and generally enjoy each others company. It was fully kitted out with everything you need to prepare food, eat and clean. It has a dishwasher and washing machine which i thought were an asset. A beautiful open fire which would be so amazing in the winter months. Off the Kitchen was a small courtyard which contained a BBQ should you wish to have one, we used the space to eat breakfast a couple of the warm mornings we had.
The Lounge was bigger than i thought but was very cosy, the decoration was lovely. The sofas were very comfortable and a great place to curl up and watch a film on a sunday afternoon. Again beautiful touches like comfy cushions and a blanket to add to the homeliness.
As i said there was 7 of us and we felt we had more than enough room, the double bedroom was again bigger than expected and the room with the bunk beds were more than comfortable for adults. The attic room as explained has a very steep stair case but we were prepared for this, the ceilings are low but it was a big enough space for our group to manage in and had a funky feel to it. All of the beds were very comfortable and my whole group slept well throughout the whole weekend. Linen was provided along with extra pillows and blankets if needed.
The bathroom was a great size and met all of our needs.
The cottage is full of little touches that make it very special and the original features are amazing.
Location was perfect, it is literally a couple of minutes from the beach and high street. I have never been to Whitstable before and thought it was a lovely place, luckily we had good weather and spent a lot of time exploring, we found some quirky shops and lovely pubs.
I would definitely book Bexley Cottage again and have been talking to friends and family about arranging a return visit soon.
Booking was very simple and everyone i spoke to was very helpful.
