The Kent region

Kent is a beautiful county with rolling hills and beaches, the sea is pleasant for swimming in the summer and great for winter walks.

There is a great ride which takes you to Canterbury on the Crab and Winkle Way - once upon a time the railway line which took fish and oysters to London for sale at market, now set up for walkers and riders to enjoy themselves free from the hassle of traffic.

Only 1h30min from London (road/train), Whitstable is famous for its long association with locally caught seafood and in particular oysters, it has one of very few remaining working harbours with a small fleet of fishing boats, that catch fish daily for sale in the harbour fish market.

Many of the towns very good restaurants serve excellent fish dishes, but also cater for meat fans and vegetarians.

The countryside nearby is great for walking and cycling with very little to interrupt you between Whitstable and Canterbury except woodland.

"Real comfort"

Our second stay here in Bexley Cottage. A sizeable 3 bed cottage with a great ground floor. Everything was very clean. Good extras for kids such as boxes of toys. Plenty of equipment in the kitchen so you don't need to bring anything with you. Very well located in the heart of whitstable. Hope to return soon.

"Excellent location and perfect for weekend trip"

The property is finished to a high standard. Excellent central location with the shops and beach minutes away. Only point to consider is the loft room doesn't have full head height and has very steep steps. Fine for a weekend stay and older children. Older guests small children would struggle. Overall would highly recommend!

"Spacious, but cosy cottage in a perfect location"

Bexley Cottage is a wonderful place for a holiday in Whitstable. It is perfectly located in a very quiet street very close to the lovely town centre and only a short walk from the beach. The cottage has everything you need including very comfortable beds (which we couldn't seem to raise ourselves from), a cosy lounge for movie nights, a great kitchen dining room and a fine bathroom. I thoroughly recommend both Whitstable, which is a great place for long walks, delicious food and quirky shops and Bexley Cottage, the ideal location for relaxing and exploring.

"Perfect seaside retreat"

This gorgeous property is not just a house but a home. Beautfully decorated with love, it is very charming and cozy. Firstly the location could not be better, a block or two from Harbor Street; the center of Whitstable and just paces further from the beach and harbor. The large kitchen catered nicely to 8 for Christmas dinner and the woodburner and open fireplace in the lounge just added to the ambiance. I spent a week here and could easily have added a second week, but a weekend here would certainly hit the spot too!

"Lovely house in the centre of Whitstable"

Myself and 6 friends stayed for our annual weekend to Whitstable and visit to the Sportsman in Seasalter. The house was perfectly located in the centre of Whitstable and easy to find. The kitchen was fully equipped and I cooked on the Friday night and Saturday morning. There is also a lovely cafe just around the corner as well as a very friendly pub and the harbour area for food and shopping. I would recommend this place to anyone and we may find ourselves renting this again if our choice of hotel is not available again.

"Beautiful cottage in picturesque Whitstable"

Me and 6 friends stayed in Bexley cottage for 2 nights to attend a wedding in Whitstable. The location was perfect, a short walk in to Whitstable town and to the beach. For us it was really convenient as it was also only a short walk to the wedding venue at East Quay. The cottage was well equipped and beautifully decorated. The ladder to get to the loft room is steep so anyone with mobility problems may have a bit of difficulty with this but for us this was not an issue. We had no problems with parking on the Friday when we arrived but if we had arrived on the Saturday I think we would have had a bit more trouble parking. The owner of the cottage made the rental process very simple and was very quick to answer any questions that I had. Me and my friends would definitely return again but next time for longer!!

"Excellent! So close to harbour, beach, high St, shops and restaurants."

Received 1st class service, all the way! Booked very last minute so needed very prompt response and that is exactly what we got. Dad's in wheelchair so, to be so close to everything was amazing. Shops, beach etc just round the corner! Accommodation is lovely, comfy beds and sofas and good size, well equipped kitchen/ dining room. Even had a Nespesso machine! Was great to have some coffee supplied too, very generous! Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay again. Many thanks!

"Perfect location to explore and enjoy Whitstable and all it has to offer."

Lovely cottage, plenty of living space downstairs and bedroom space upstairs. Perfect location, a few minutes walk from the harbour and high street. Easy to get to, parking a bit of a challenge but we hardly used the car once there so not really an issue. Loved the style of the property - interesting art work and a quality finish to the styling and decor of the property. It felt like a home. We would go back to this property.

"lovely cottage"

Beutiful, well furnished cottage, in a great location. We had a lovely stay at Bexley cottage which is just a stones throw from Whitstable harbour and beach. Very well equipped, however there is limited clothes storage and I would advise people to take a few clothes hangers. parking was a bit difficult, probably as we were there at peak season, but we did manage to find parking places in the nearby streets. I also think that the cottage would benefit from having Wi fi installed. overall, a lovely place, and I would recommend to others

"Great location"

We stayed at the Bexley Cottage during the beginning of July and it was a fantastic location to visit the beaches and town centre. We were a party of 5 and the property had everything we needed. The sitting room was cosy and the DVD player was useful during the couple of days when it was raining all day. We enjoyed walks along the beach - all the way to Herne Bay, breakfast in the Castle and a fun afternoon bowling in the nearby MFA Bowl. There's plenty of places to eat out but our favourite was Birdies in the town centre. It was difficult at times to park near the cottage - had to watch out for spaces to become available so that we could move the car.
