Cottage | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Bexley Cottage just went through a total refurbishment. Everything has been thought, designed and built in order to offer guests a cosy and relaxing atmosphere, with a very high standard of equipment and furnishing throughout.
The house is brilliantly located in the Conservation Area, in a quiet back street, literally 100 yards from the harbour, beach and vibrant high street.
Downstairs is the heart of the house, with a fabulous open kitchen/dining area, as well as a separate lounge and access to a courtyard.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, a family bathroom and a spacious attic room, converted for the owner's use. It can sleep up to 8 people (provided 4 people -or a family- share the attic, which is low ceiling with steep stairs).
It will make the perfect retreat for friends, couples or families alike.
The cottage is immaculately presented and offers everything you may need to enjoy your stay, from a wide range of DVDs to state of the art cooking material, not to mention kid's toys.....

The South East England region
Kent is a beautiful county with rolling hills and beaches, the sea is pleasant for swimming in the summer and great for winter walks.
There is a great ride which takes you to Canterbury on the Crab and Winkle Way - once upon a time the railway line which took fish and oysters to London for sale at market, now set up for walkers and riders to enjoy themselves free from the hassle of traffic.
Only 1h30min from London (road/train), Whitstable is famous for its long association with locally caught seafood and in particular oysters, it has one of very few remaining working harbours with a small fleet of fishing boats, that catch fish daily for sale in the harbour fish market.
Many of the towns very good restaurants serve excellent fish dishes, but also cater for meat fans and vegetarians.
The countryside nearby is great for walking and cycling with very little to interrupt you between Whitstable and Canterbury except woodland.

We stayed at the Bexley Cottage during the beginning of July and it was a fantastic location to visit the beaches and town centre. We were a party of 5 and the property had everything we needed. The sitting room was cosy and the DVD player was useful during the couple of days when it was raining all day.
We enjoyed walks along the beach - all the way to Herne Bay, breakfast in the Castle and a fun afternoon bowling in the nearby MFA Bowl. There's plenty of places to eat out but our favourite was Birdies in the town centre.
It was difficult at times to park near the cottage - had to watch out for spaces to become available so that we could move the car.

"Stylish and well laid-out property. The ideal group location."
Our group consisted of eight people in our twenties, who selected the property due to its open-plan ground floor layout. We hoped that this would provide a great space for socialising and eating together, and we were not disappointed. Whilst the living room is smaller, the large kitchen diner was amply sized for everyone to gather and move around easily. If anything, it was nice to have the more cosy living room that a small group could retreat to if desired!
The house was beautifully decorated, and it was refreshing to find a coastal rental property that was not dripping in breton stripes and sea-shells! The property is full of original features, and was also not covered in signs and instructions from the owners, which made it possible to really relax and feel at home.
The location was also excellent, between the harbour (great for fresh fish) and the centre of town. It was also easy to avoid the beach crowds and walk out towards Tankerton along the coastal path. The small pub, which is almost next door, was great and did not create any noise disturbance at night. The parking situation was not ideal, as we arrived on a busy Summer Saturday and could not find anywhere within five or six streets. However, it was easy to pull into the side road, unload our bags and then move the car later. Furthermore, spaces opposite the property did become available later during the week.
One thing that is worth being aware of is that, whilst the house sleeps 8, four of the beds are on the second floor, which is accessed by a very steep staircase. As a group of adults, this was no problem at all- even after a glass of wine! Similarly, it would have been great for children over the age of about seven. However, I would not recommend planning to sleep very young children on the top floor. There are bunk beds provided on the first floor which are ideal for kids.
Overall the house was really lovely, particularly for a large group who appreciate great decor in an outstanding location.

"Girls Weekend Away - Fantastic!"
We stayed at Bexley Cottage last weekend (30th & 31st May) and had a fantastic time in Whitstable. The weather was fantastic and made even better by the wonderful Bexley cottage. There were 8 of us so we definitely filled the place, but it had everything we needed, with gorgeous decor and a cosy open kitchen area where we enjoyed a fish and chip supper. I think I can speak for all 8 of us that we had a wonderful time, and would highly recommend this place for group or family short stays in Whitstable. (The bunk beds would probably suit 2 children over two pregnant ladies!) Nicolas the owner was quick to reply to any questions and supplied us with an information pack in the weeks leading up to our stay. Very helpful when trying to organise 8 women! Overall fantastic, and we will be back!

"Excellent location, beautiful house and a perfect weekend."
I booked this house back in January for a university girls reunion. It was in a perfect location and had everything you could need for a weekend by the seaside. The house was clean, well equiped and the instructions to get the keys, clear. There also wasn't problems finding parking for cars.
Whitstable is a wonderful location and the house is walking distance to the main high street (and it's brilliant shops) and the sea. We had such a cosy time in the cottage that we decided to stay in and cook on Saturday evening. The kitchen really is a wonderful space.
We highly recommend dinner at the Sportsman. We ordered the taster menu and are so pleased we did! So lush and beautiful served. The wine list was reasonable with a good selection. A real highlight for us was how very friendly all the staff were. We felt like we'd known them for years by the end of the evening.
All in all, whitstable and bexley cottage are wonderful places to stay and I recommend without reservation!

"Stylish cottage in perfect location"
We spent 2 nights in Bexley Cottage for a girls' weekend. The cottage is very tastefully decorated and well designed - simple yet very functional and comfortable. The location is really fantastic as it is a stone's throw to all the gorgeous little shops and cafes and very close to the beach too. Not to be missed! I wanted to book again for the summer but it's full already and I'm actually not surprised.

"Fantastic house for the seaside sociable"
We rented Bexley Cottage for a family Christmas and it was perfect for the six of us. We loved the sociable kitchen diner and cosy front room, the beautiful bathroom and excellent finish throughout. Great location too, just minutes from the high street and beach. Excellent comms from the management company made the whole process very straightforward.

"Absolutely beautiful cosy cottage on a quiet street just minutes walk from the harbour and high street"
This cottage is slightly smaller than it looks in the pictures however that was perfect for me as I stayed with one other person and so we didn't feel like we were rattling around in a huge house meant for six people. The house is on a quiet street just off the harbour and the high street so within very easy walking distance of everything you could want. Its really well finished and whoever decorated has certainly put a lot of thought into it (even if some of the master bedroom decor was for a more alternative taste!)
The cottage was excellent value for money and the customer service throughout was great. We did have an issue sourcing some coal for the fire (much more difficult than you'd imagine outside barbecue season) and also there were a few essentials (e.g. handsoap) missing when we arrived but the owner has since assured me this was most unusual and given the high standard of everything else I can certainly believe him.
