Further details indoors:
The kitchen is very well equipped with a range cooker and most gadgets and accessories you could need during your stay - even if you are cooking a full Christmas dinner.
The King sized beds are all fitted with mattress toppers, making them very comfortable and with hotel standard high thread count cotton bed linen you may even sleep better than you do at home - although this could be the sea air.
Further details outdoors:
The Ventings has a small table and two chairs for morning coffee in the sun and there is a larger table for dining in the secluded garden - a parasol is provided as the garden is a pleasant suntrap.
The stairs in the cottage are steep, which is not uncommon amongst whitstables earlier fisherman's cottages, so the second(top) floor bedroom is not suitable for those who are not confident on steep stairs, however it has 2 single beds that are perfect for the kids although these can also be converted into a super-king sized bed which is very comfortable. The Ventings has super fast Wi-Fi broadband(BT infinity)
The South East England / Kent region
Kent is a beautiful county with rolling hills and beaches, the sea is pleasant for swimming in the summer and great for winter walks.
The Whitstable area
Whitstable is famous for its long association with locally caught seafood and in particular oysters, it has one of very few remaining working harbours with a small fleet of fishing boats, that catch fish daily for sale in the harbour fish market. Many of the towns very good restaurants serve excellent fish dishes, but also cater for meat fans and vegetarians. The countryside nearby is great for walking and cycling with very little to interrupt you between Whitstable and Canterbury except woodland - there is a great ride which takes you to canterbury on the Crab and Winkle Way - once upon a time the railway line which took fish and oysters to london for sale at market, now set up for walkers and riders to enjoy themselves free from the hassle of traffic.
