The West Country region
From this South Eastern corner of Cornwall, the rest of Cornwall's many tourist attractions are easy to reach.
We have the Eden Centre, the famous Minnack Theatre, Padstow and of course the famous Sea food restaurant. The list is endless!!
Although most people find the Cliff and the Bay so restful it takes an effort to leave!!
Whitsand Bay has 5 miles of golden sands and at low tide many rock pools to explore.
There is fishing and diving off the wreck of HMS Scylla in the Bay.
For those wishing to venture further afield the fishing port of Looe is an enjoyable day trip and the Woolly Monkey Sanctuary is close by. Polperro, another traditional Cornish village is well worth exploring and just a bit further on from Looe.
If you are looking for some retail therapy the city of Plymouth has a large shopping mall and in the summer months a water taxi can been taken from Cawsand beach to Plymouth's Historic Barbican Area.
Cawsand and Kingsand are 2 very pretty seaside villages close to Whitsand Bay. They both have many pubs serving excellent pub grub. The Cross Keys serves very good roasts and The Devonport Inn has a fine French chef.
There are many coastal walks, one of them from Rame Head to Cawsand Bay taking in the spectacular views.
"Polhawn Fort is a very popular wedding venue and the chalet is an ideal place to stay as it is a few minutes drive to the fort" .
