As a large group of friends we always find it a bit awkward staying in a hotel - never knowing when people would be ready to go out or never having a place to have a cosy drink together. Problem solv… More

Me and a group of friends thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, not only is there plenty of space which is well heated , all the mod cons and only a very short walk to town centre.
Had a great time and will definitely be making a return visit.

"spacious house with an Ideal location to access whitby"
Lovely house but you need to be fit as lots of stairs. House was home from home had everything you needed. Beds were comfy and rooms spacious. Parking a little bit of an issue, you soon realised if you managed to find a space you stuck with it. All in all a fab weekend was had by all!

"Owner keeps your damage waiver to cover an old, grubby already broken blind!!! £100 for THAT!"
Upon arrival (there is no hope of parking to unload), the property has been 'cat-licked' clean - fridge-freezer (no handles, built in door to both broken, swings back and crushes fingers) ha… More
If there were problems with the cleaning of the prperty this should have been highlighted immediately so that the cleaning company could have rectified it. You did not mention the loss in pressure on the boiler and I did in fact refund you the full damage deposit. The blind has now been removed.

"Perfect location-stress free vacation!"
Booking the property was very easy indeed. The owner was prompt and polite with all emails and made the process very simple. Arriving at the property was easy also, directions were clear-the only quibble was the lack of on street parking. Being adjacent to Whitby hospital at visiting time meant hoping for the best with the car. However, in truth you do not need a car as the location of this property is excellent-literally 5 minutes brisk walk and you're in Baxtergate! We travelled as a group of 7, 3 adults, 1 teen and 3 under 4s and the facilities in the property were very good, the kitchen was clean, modern and contained everything you would need in a rental. There is a toilet/bathroom on every floor but the basement which was incredibly useful as we had a teenager, two toddlers and a baby. All clean and showers easy to operate. The lounge had a TV, wi-fi was very useful as was the boardgames and couple of baby toys provided. If there was any criticism to be found it was that the quality of one mattress (double-top floor) could be replaced but it didn't have a real impact on the quality of our break.
Overall we felt that this property provided superb value for money. You are close to the town centre, the property was as described and very well equipped. Really couldn't fault it and hopefully would love to book it again!

"Lovely accommodation close to centre"
Had a fab weekend away. The house has everything you need which doesn't always happen in holiday properties. It was spacious and well presented and so close to the centre of whitby. It was also quite easy to park too. Would definitely recommend. Only thing I would say is that there are quite a lot of stairs as you would imagine in a 2 storey house and we wished we'd taken a baby gate as we had toddlers with us.

"looking forward to next year"
This our 5th year staying at George Street, we love it. The house is big enough for all of us and the dog. It's a short walk in to Whitby, where there is lots to do. We enjoyed the bumper boats, go karts, crabbing, fish and chips at the magpie, vintage shopping, climbing the 199 steps to the Abbey and having hot chocolate in the café, going on Harry's ghost walk and lots more! We will be booking again for next year.
