Ideally located with just a 5-minute walk to the Harbour, beach and the array of attractions, shops and eating places that Whitby has to offer. Hanover Cottage is currently rated 4-Star by Visit England and we have taken care to provide everything you require for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We welcome families and we provide additional items such as high chairs, intercom systems and travel cots for babies and young children. A welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, jam, biscuits and a bottle of white wine is provided on your arrival!

We offer holidays all year round usually starting on a Saturday at 3pm for 1 or 2 weeks. In Low Season we provide shorter breaks starting on a Friday or a Saturday at 3pm, with a minimum stay of 3 nights. Our prices start from £780 per week and from £114 per night for shorter breaks. The prices advertised are for the rental of the property and not per person. Our prices include unlimited WIFI, private parking, gas, electricity, water, towels and bed linen.

Comfortably accommodating up to 8 guests on a self catering basis, Hanover Cottage has 4 first-floor bedrooms (2 double, 1 twin & 1 bunk room), 2 bathrooms (1 being en-suite) and an additional ground floor toilet. Good quality bed linen, towels, duvets and pillows are provided, as well as a small selection of toiletries. We can provide a fold-away bed or up to 2 travel cots if you have additional younger guests in your party (please inform us at the time of booking).

The ground floor comprises of a spacious living room with plenty of comfortable seating, Free-Sat T.V, DVD player, books, games and a docking station. This leads to a large conservatory with views of the garden and a table and seating for 8 guests. A huge fully equipped kitchen has everything you require to prepare meals as well as a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The cottage has a formal dining room with seating for 8 and an open fire. The accommodation is tastefully decorated and some of the original Victorian and Georgian features remain, such as fireplaces, high ceilings and wooden sash windows.

The gardens are ideal for alfresco dining and drinks, with facilities including a BBQ, table, chairs, parasol and bench seat. Hanover Cottage is in a residential area and conveniently located on Prospect Hill which is the route into the centre of Whitby. The side of the property is adjacent to the road and the house is slightly elevated, therefore it retains privacy. The gardens are to the front and side of the house and can be viewed from most of the rooms. Parking is provided at the rear of the property and the driveway has a gate.

Pannett Park is just down the hill, and as well as being a lovely area to stroll through it has a fantastic Maritime adventure playground to suit all ages. There is a good variety of shops, tea rooms, restaurants, take-aways and pubs to choose from in the town. Fish and chips are an absolute must while in Whitby! With attractions and activities to suit the whole family such as visiting the beach, Whitby Abbey, the Whale Jawbone Arch, museums and so much more, it's not surprising that people return to Whitby every year.

Public transport is easily accessed, with bus stops located within 20 metres of the property and the train station is a 5-minute walk away. It you want to explore further afield the nearby smaller coastal resorts of Sandsend and Runswick Bay are well worth a visit, and so are the many scenic villages such as Danby and Goathland in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. You could easily take a day trip to Scarborough or the City of York too.

Hi
Thank you for your review. I'm really pleased you enjoyed your stay at Hanover Cottage and all that Whitby has to offer. The en-suite bathroom is definitely in need of an update and will be fully replaced towards the end of the year (incorporating another shower). We're also hoping to redesign the kitchen in early 2015 to create more of a kitchen/diner, which will provide a great social space.

Hope to see you again.

Kind regards

Nicola

"Superb holiday home in excellent location."

Wonderful holiday home, brilliant location being 5mins walk from Whitby harbour. House very well equipped and immaculately clean. Delightful private gardens and secure off street parking. Owners friendly and extremely helpful but not obtrusive. Brilliant complimentary welcome pack included wine, gorgeous fresh bread, tea coffee etc. Super house for a group of friends or family, Highly recommended! We hope to return.
