The West Country / Dorset region

Weymouth and Portland were proud to host the sailing during the 2012 Olympics. Visit and see where all the action took place. You can even try sailing at the National Sailing Academy. Lovely long sandy beach. Great for water sports all year round. Shallow calm sea during the summer, great for children.

Great for walks or fossil hunting along the Jurassic coast.

The Weymouth area

Sea Life Centre and Sailing Academy nearby. Abbotsbury Swannery, Monkey World, Lulworth Cove and Castle and Durdle Door a short journey away. Weymouth Carnival takes place in mid August.

Great family friendly fun including air display, with the Red Arrows usually taking part. New Years eve is a big party in Weymouth. Most people wear fancy dress. Hope square is the centre of a street party with bands, food and outside bars.

Easy to find. Off the main road into Weymouth called Dorchester road. Once you pass a parade of shops including Tesco Metro take the second right and then second left. The apartment is approx 350m from the seafront.

“I would also stay here again” Previous review is accurate except hair dryer is now present. I stayed for 6 weeks between being abroad and returning home. The photos shown in the descriptin are accurate and represent the flat faithfully. The flat is light, airy, clean, adequately furnished and the kitchen is suitable for folks wishing to cook rather than eat out - as the previous reviewer said there is no freezer but for me that was not an issue. The 10 min or so walk into town is perfectly OK for daily shopping - you do not need a car although there is loads of off-street parking for anyone with a car. As for coming from the railway station it is walkable with small luggage or wheeled luggage but not heavy luggage, again just under 10 minutes. Lovely walks along the bay, coastal path and out to Portland make it a great spot. Owner very helpful and resolved a minor electrical issue very promptly. Visitors shoud be aware the final set of stairs to this top floor flat are somewhat steep but are OK for all but anyone with walking difficulties. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in flat and location and would recommend it. Response: Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Little Waves. “I would stay in this apartment again” Nice airy apartment top of house. Clean and tidy, modern. Good size rooms. Kitchen equipment good though no freezer compartment in fridge, also a hair dryer would be handy. Nice quiet area 5 minutes... more
