With the magnificent views over Portland Harbour and out to Weymouth Bay from the lounge and master bedroom that are afforded from Breakwaters, you may watch the sailing boats as they race around in the inner harbour. Sandsfoot beach, a small sandy beach down by the sailing club, is only a few minutes walk - a great little beach with rock pools for children to explore. Breakwaters had a total renovation just a few years ago and the owners have taken this opportunity to add many features which our discerning guests will appreciate, easy access to the property with a ramp, a spacious ground floor bedroom and wet room. All other bedrooms have ensuite facilities and there is an additional cloakroom conveniently located on the first floor near the lounge. Do follow the nearby Rodwell Trail, a popular walk tracing the old railway line - it can lead you one way towards Portland where you may stop at the acclaimed Crab Cafe or visit the National Sailing Academy, or it leads in the other direction into central Weymouth. You may reach the main harbour and Brewers Quay area by walking in around 20 minutes and it is an extra 10 minutes from here to the town centre or main beach. Alternatively, all are just a very short bus or car journey away. Breakwaters, in prize position with stunning views and with the many benefits afforded in the property, is sure to be a popular choice.

The West Country region

Dorset is a county with lots to offer, from astounding natural landmarks such as the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, the beautiful Golden Cap and the popular natural cove at Lulworth to the lively seaside towns of Weymouth, Swanage and Lyme Regis. A week (or longer) self catering holiday in Dorset gives you the time to really soak up the history, feel and beauty of the region, taste the fine local cuisine and enjoy a break from the hectic pace of town or city life.

Weymouth is one of the most popular seaside destinations in the UK. Its well known esplanade and sandy beach stretches for two miles and the town is famous for offering a traditional seaside holiday to visitors. It was also chosen to host the 2012 Olympic sailing events.
