Anvil is a pretty house on the popular but quiet Maltings development on the site of the old Devenish brewery. It is a well-equipped holiday home which has been carefully updated by the owners. It is located within a three minute walk to Newton's Cove (great for rock pools) which then leads round to the Nothe Gardens and the Nothe Fort. Alternatively a five minute walk takes you right into Brewers Quay and the harbour area. Here you can explore all the various shops and sample the succulent food which is offered from the harbourside restaurants and of course traditional fish and chips! Coffee houses serving cream teas and homemade cakes are also on offer. Why not savour an early morning breakfast while watching the sailing crafts go by. Take a leisurely stroll around the harbour to the main beach with its golden sands. Adjacent to the harbour is the town centre with high street names and individual shops as well as entertainment such as a nine screen cinema and ten pin bowling.

Weymouth

Weymouth is one of the most popular seaside destinations in the UK. Its well known esplanade and sandy beach stretches for two miles and the town is famous for offering a traditional seaside holiday to visitors. It was also chosen to host the 2012 Olympic sailing events.

"Good holiday home in great location"

Nice house, nothing too fancy (which suited us) which seemed to have everything you would need and some. The location was perfect, near enough to the centre of things, but far enough away to not be noisy. Brewers Quay, with its pubs, restaurants and shops, is only about 5 minutes walk away and the town centre only another 2/3 minutes. The only problem we had was that we expected Sky TV, but it was only Freesat - very disappointing if you like to stay in on an evening and watch TV. Otherwise would recommend this holiday home and would definitely consider staying there again.
