Home description
Recently opened to the holiday letting market, this property is just the answer if you need a change of pace, fresh air, sunshine and seashore. In just over two hours (140 miles) from London, you could be on the coast kicking your feet up in a lovely beachfront chalet located in Bowleaze Cove, Weymouth - "Overcombe Corner" for the windsurfing fanatics. Forget the pressures of the city, and enjoy the plethora of outdoor pursuits at your doorstep or lounge on the balcony with a book and a great view of the Jurassic coastline and Portland Harbour.
For sailing fanatics, Weymouth will be the sailing venue for the 2012 Olympics. For windsurfing lovers, Portland Harbour is famous for its speed course where many a pro can be spotted during Speed Week. For beachcombers, there are always exciting finds from the smallest of shells to crabs and more. Down the coast in Charmouth, you may be lucky enough to find an ammonite. Any fossil found there is over 50 million years old. For ramblers and cyclists, there are absolutely miles of trails to be explored right from the doorstep.
While we continue to enjoy the property every chance we get, we decided to share our enjoyment with other holiday-makers while we make long-term plans to return on a permanent basis.

The West Country / Dorset region
Situated on the south coast of England, Dorset is considered by many to be the most beautiful county in England. Most of Dorset has been officially designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. Yet there is more to Dorset than the beauty of the countryside. Dorset is also the centre of both the Anglo Saxon kingdom and Thomas Hardy's fictional Wessex.
Weymouth area
There are activities for all ages walking distance up to an hour away - from the Sealife Park, Weymouth Harbour, Chesil Bank to Monkey World, Tank Museum, Cerne Abbas and Charmouth (famous for the fossil hunting!)
Throughout the year there are events that take place in Weymouth including International Beach Volley Ball tournament, Kite Festival, Victorian Night, Red Arrows, Speed Week (at Portland Harbour) and the greatest attraction of all in 2012 - the Olympics!
