The West Country region

There is plenty to see and do in Dorset, from baby swans at Abbotsbury to beer festivals in Beaminster.

Classic countryside meets heritage coast in South Dorset.

Blessed with beaches that range from the pebble rich 18 mile Chesil Beach tombolo, to Weymouth Beach’s sandy shores, Weymouth and Portland have a great choice of places to visit and enjoy in both the hot summer months and the winter weeks.

Add this to miles of stunning Jurassic coastline, a great range of family friendly attractions and a good choice of museums, and you have a surprisingly rich range of activities to keep you busy during your stay in the area.

Weymouth

Portland has plenty of leisure activities including fishing, diving, rock climbing, walking and a variety of water sports, including sailing at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, venue for the sailing events at the 2012 Olympic Games.

"Lovely stay"

Beautiful house on 3 floors. Small back garden -a real little sun trap. Well equipped kitchen. All the rooms are a good size and all have excellent views of the sea. The walk to the local on the front looks daunting because of the very steap hill but proved to be no problem. Local co op just up the road and a very friendly local pub just before the co op. Very good fish and chips take away opposite the co op. Large Tesco in town. We had a lovely holiday and would return.
