About the home

An idyllic stroll from the cottage on a footpath through fields brings you to the Fleet Nature Reserve, which looks out over Chesil beach. A haven for walkers, nature lovers and bird watchers, the coast path follows the Lagoon towards Weymouth to the east and Abbotsbury to the west. At 10 minutes drive from the Portland sailing academy, Moonfleet is a secluded haven yet convenient Sailing Base

The cottage has 3 bedrooms (6-foot double can be split into twin bed ,1 double, 1 twin), lounge, dining room, kitchen, sunroom, bathroom, 2 wcs, childrens reduced height playroom, utility room and cloak/boot room. It is 3 star visit-britain graded. The Beach/Coast Path is 200 yards, and Weymouth 3 miles. It is 10 minutes from sailing academy and the garage available for storage on request. Children are welcome, but dogs not permitted, and no smoking.

Central heating and logburner (logs provided October - April), Washing Machine, Fridge/Freezer, microwave, electric oven, gas stove, bedlinen & towels provided (highchair, travelcot, safetygate available on request, childs play equipment used at own risk), Ample parking, Shop/Pub/playground 200 yards (Seasonal), No Telephone.

With wonderful walking on the doorstep, birding, wild flowers wildlife, fishing, fossil hunting, cycling. Children are also well catered for with playgrounds in Abbotsbury & Chickerell, and a childrens farm, swannery and sub tropical gardens at Abbotsbury.

Ideally placed to explore Dorset's Jurassic Coast - England’s first and only Natural World Heritage Site.

“Peaceful well equipped comfortable cottage” We found the location very peaceful with great views. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable, unfortunately we had a problem with the tv which Tania sorted out the very next day with a brand new tv. We had a wonderful holiday here, seeing the badgers in the garden next door every night. This was a great base to explore the area from like monkey world, Portland Bill, Bournemouth and the Jurassic coast. We can highly recommend The Marquis of Granby for excellent food and value, its a must and only a ten minute drive away.

“Wonderful seaside cottage in Dorset” Stayed at moonfleet cottage and had great time exploring local walks in fleet and surrounding area. Ideal for couples and families. Can't wait to go back next year. Couldn't ask for better location and views were amazing. Cottage well equipped with everything we needed and would thoroughly recommend staying there.
