Situated at one end of the Great Chesil Bank, there are panoramic views from the the top of the island the whole way along the Fleet with it's oyster beds and fishing, nesting terns and migrating birds.

Portland, on the South coast of Dorset, is mid way between bustling Bournemouth which has all the shops a good club night life and traditional Bridport with it's street market, local shops and Arts Centre. The County Town of Dorchester is just a short drive away.

"Wonderful place to stay, couldn't be better."

The studio was everything I expected it to be from the website. Everything has been provided for your comfort. The hosts are very helpful but never intrusive.
The coastal path is right outside your gate, you can see the sea from your armchair. Lots of historical interest in the area.
The local people are very friendly, they like visitors.
One thing to note, the "all round the island" bus doesn't start running until July, so it's a tidy walk up to the local bus stop, but saying that they run every seven minutes, even on Sundays.
I'll definitely be going back again next year.
