OCEAN RETREAT OVERVIEW
OCEAN RETREAT is a 2 bedroom chalet, sleeping 4, within the Golden Bay Holiday complex in Westward Ho! With superb ocean views just yards from the front door, and just a stones throw away from the beach, coast path, and tidal pool, you could not wish for a better location. The chalet is fronted by the 2 mile long blue-flag Westward Ho! beach and allows visitors panoramic views of Bideford Bay, Saunton Sands and Lundy Island.
Westward Ho! has many restaurants, shops, tea-rooms and traditional pubs to choose from. Within a short driving distance are the quaint villages of Hartland, Clovelly, Appledore, Instow and the historic market town of Bideford. Just a short hop over the Torridge is Barnstaple, and many magnificent beaches including Saunton Sands, Braunton Burrows, Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe. This is the perfect seaside holiday home for families, couples or friends. WiFi is available from reception.
You can book OCEAN RETREAT in conjunction with OCEAN VIEW, to sleep a total of 10 people ( 2 people informally on a sofa bed in OCEAN VIEW).
The lounge, dining area and kitchen are open plan. A large comfortable sofa, armchair and pouffe seat 4 people. There is a TV with Freeview, a DVD player and CD player. Electric panel heating and a coal effect fire will keep you warm on cooler evenings. The dining area consists of an extendable wooden table, seating 4.
WiFi is available on-site (payment is made at Golden Bay Reception for a daily or weekly pass).
The kitchen area contains a fridge/freezer, oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery and crockery, iron and ironing board, and all other essential kitchen utensils. OCEAN RETREAT contains everything you need for a relaxed self-catering holiday.
There is an on-site coin-operated launderette to wash and dry clothes.
Bedroom 1: Contains a double bed, wardrobe, bedside drawers and dressing table.
Bedroom 2: Twin room containing. bedside drawers and mirrors making the room bright and airy.
A sofa bed in the lounge allows this property to sleep 6 people.
The family bathroom has a bath with shower overhead, handbasin and WC. Bath towels are kindly provided.
There is a garden bench seating 4 people. Close to the chalet there is a large shared lawn. Just a short stroll will take you down to the beach and amenities. There is parking for 1 car. There is a communal tidal pool on Westward Ho! Beach, just a 2 minute walk away.

Destination for holidays at any time of year. There is very good access to the area with a new dual carriageway joining the M5 from Junction 27. The area is renowned as having some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, with Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks to explore, some of the finest golden sandy beaches many with blue flags. An ideal place to bring families down on holidays - safe and picturesque with so many activities available.
WALK TO - You will be a stone’s throw away from all the amenities that Westward Ho! has to offer including a championship golf course, horse riding, tennis, surfing, kite surfing, cliff top walks, shops, pubs and restaurants, and of course the sandy beach with pebble ridge, popular with surfers and kite surfers. If it is rambling you are after, there are countless footpaths for you to explore along the coast and inland.
CYCLE TO - The charming fishing villages of Appledore and Instow, as well as the town of Bideford. Keen cyclists can cycle to Barnstaple and beyond, following the Tarka Trail.
DRIVE TO - The surrounding area has much to offer. Within driving distance is Atlantic Village outlet shopping centre, Tapeley Park, Instow, Appledore, The Big Sheep, Dartington Crystal, Clovelly, Bucks Mills, The Milky Way adventure park and the historic market town of Bideford with its open-air and pannier markets. Just a short hop over the Torridge is the large market town of Barnstaple with all high street conveniences, cinema, theatre, museums, and pannier market. From Barnstaple one is in easy reach of many magnificent North Devon blue-flag beaches including Croyde, Woolacombe, Saunton Sands, Braunton Burrows and Putsborough all famous surf spots.
