This beautiful unspoilt part of Connemara is the ideal getaway location for those who want to unwind and forget about it all for a while. After staying here you will not want to go back to the city.
For those of you who like driving we are in the heart of the most beautiful scenery in the world. This area is truly unique as it is the only place in Europe that a blanket bog (peat) exists. The Irish hare ,red grouse, butterflies, dragonflies, spiders live in these blanket bogs which are 10,000 years old. It is also used as a form of heat , after it is cut and dried. It has an unusual relaxing smell when burning.
The coastline of Mayo and Connemara is large and ever changing with the light that follows the contours of the mountains and valleys, only photos can describe the tranquility and beauty of this area.
