"Fantastic spot for a hen party"

The Wilderness is the ideal house for a hen party. We had 15 hens to celebrate our friend Wendy getting married and everyone had the best time with something to suit everyone. The house itself has lots of nooks and crannies to explore, a large kitchen for catering and a fantastic dining room opening onto the garden. The bedrooms are spacious and there are plenty of bathrooms to go round.
We did the cycle along the River Avon on the Saturday and the views are stunning, followed by lunch in the Barge Inn in Seend.
We had a bbq on the Saturday night in the gorgeous garden and luckily we had the weather on our side.
The house is a bit tricky to find but we put some balloons outside to help everyone find their way.
Would highly recommend this house for a large gathering whether it be a hen party or family occasion there really is something to suit everyone here.

"A really enjoyable stay at The Wilderness. Well equipped , comfortable with character too!"

The property was an ideal place for our hen weekend.
It was very close to a main line train station making it easy for all guests to travel .
There seemed to be everything there that we needed in the kitchen, and it was so nice to all be seated at the large dinner table in the conservatory . There were plenty of cosy seating areas as well as enough space for us all to be together in one room.
Good use was also made of the Sauna and the large garden .

"Brilliant for all ages"

Preliminary arrangements clear and professional.
A lovely old cottage, cleverly converted and modernised without losing its character.
We were told where the keys would be found on arrival but the keysafe was smaller than we expected and took a bit of finding - but that was our fault!
Accommodation beautifully clean on arrival and just as described on the website.
Our extended family gathering was to celebrate a couple of special birthdays and ages ranged from 1 to 80 (although the youngest were day visitors) - and everyone raved about the brilliant weekend.
The weather allowed us to use the extensive garden and we enjoyed the sauna.
The property owners arranged for our Celebration Dinner to be catered in the large dining room and the meal was absolutely superb.

"An excellent week at The Wilderness"

The house is very well equipped for catering for large groups, we love cooking!
We stayed with a group of 18, aged from 5 weeks old to 80 years old and had a lovely week.
The Wilderness is comfortable, cosy, clean and very well maintained.
We made good use of the sauna, great fun and easy to use. The garden is well maintained too and would be perfect for BBQ's when the weather allows.
The owners are very helpful and always very prompt to reply to any enquiries.

"Great place to stay for a lovely weekend in the counrty"

As a group of 15 girls on a hen party, it's not always that easy to find somewhere to stay that offers decent bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, a good size dining room that can fit everyone in and everything else I was looking for. But The Wilderness offered all of those things, it was super clean and organised, plenty of parking, a beautiful big garden with sauna and close to a great city.

Jo, who took our booking, was exceptional. Super helpful, friendly, always contactable, and knowledgeable. She took all the stress of finding taxis, and additional services for the hen party.

It's just a shame we'd only booked 3 nights! We were so busy that unfortunately we didn't get to use the sauna, or go to the local pub and explore the area!

This place is definitely worth a stay, especially for a hen do! Thanks so much for making our weekend awesome.
