33 Malthouse Cottages is a very well presented family holiday home in the beautiful West Sussex seaside village of West Wittering. The house is very simply but stylishly presented and is ideal for families looking for a relaxing stay close to one of the best beaches in the sough of England.
On the ground floor there is a comfortable sitting room with patio doors opening on to the garden, which is great for children to play in. The kitchen and dining room are open plan and so ideal for families to cook in and eat together. The kitchen is well equipped and includes a slim-line dishwasher, electric oven and hob and a fridge. There is a very useful utility room which has a washing machine, freezer and plenty of space for all the family's shoes, coats or beachwear. There is also the benefit of a ground floor shower room.
On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms; a double room with plenty of storage space, a twin room and a room with bunk beds, which is ideal for children. There is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside, the rear garden has a patio area and lawn, with views over the neighbouring open farmland.

The South East England region
Some of the best attractions in West Sussex are situated within a fifteen minute drive of this village. There is the sandy beach at West Wittering, just down the road, which is regarded as one of the best beaches in southern England. There is sailing at Chichester Harbour, golf (two courses), and horse racing and motor sport at Goodwood, which is only a few miles from the property.
The beautiful cathedral city of Chichester lies less than three miles to the west, and the South Downs lie just to the north.
Set just on the edge of the village of West Wittering, the house is about a mile from the sand dunes and beach that has made West Wittering so popular. The village itself has some useful shops and public houses that serves good food. More extensive facilities in the nearby village of East Wittering and include a choice of butchers, a fishmonger, a greengrocer and 2 supermarkets.
The beautiful cathedral city of Chichester lies just to the north and is famous for its Roman connections, as well as the Festival Theatre which attracts some of the world's top actors. Chichester is dominated by the cathedral and its shopping centre has preserved its heritage and character. The Goodwood Estate lies just to the north of Chichester and, along with its horse racing, is now maybe most famous for the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival motor racing events.
The location offers easy access to the cities of Portsmouth and Brighton, both along the south coast. These larger cities offer excellent shopping, as well as attractions such as the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth, home of the British Navy. From Chichester, there is also a rail link direct to London.

"A beautiful house with a glorious garden. Loved it!"
Well, what a welcome surprise it was opening the door to this extremely well presented, well stocked house. The decor was beautiful and all the rooms were a great size. It was spotless when we arrived. The house is well set back off the main road into West Wittering, the mature trees and very wide grass verge make it feel much further away. We had a great week of great weather. Enjoyed the lovely enclosed mature back garden with its luxurious grass! The kids loved the surprise playhouse outside and we loved having a glass of wine on the swinging chair at the end of the day.
We would DEFINTELY recommend this house. I would recommend bringing bikes or organising yourselves to walk the easy 20 minutes to the beach each day, as with three small children and all the equipment that includes the £6 daily parking (£7.50 at the weekends) was a bit steep. If you do need to take the car arrive early (10 am latest) to avoid the heavy traffic ( especially at weekends).

"Very nice family house 30 minutes walk from the best beach in the South of England."
We stayed in the second week of August and had the weather in our favour. The house was spotless and well equipped with extra beach gear like a tent and boogie boards that we hadn't expected. It was easy to park outside and with my 6 year old son (plus beach gear) it took 30 minutes to walk to West Wittering beach, where we spent the majority of our time. My wife said she would be happy to stay here again, as would I. The local shops are within 5 minutes walk, and Chichester 20 minute drive. Next time we'll take our bikes as there are a lot of cycle friendly paths in the area.
