This spacious 3-bedroom Victorian cottage, in a quiet location overlooking fields is just 25 minutes from Central London by train and 15 minutes' drive from London Heathrow.
It has bags of character and is located on the outskirts of the charming old village of Denham - a village remarkably lost in time with its village green, pubs and church.
The cottage was originally built for the railway workers at the turn of the century, and has lots of original features like cast iron fireplaces, antique pine doors and lovely high ceilings. It's since been extended to provide spacious family accommodation with a farmhouse-style kitchen / family room, downstairs WC, sitting room, three bedrooms, family bathroom, private gardens and parking for two cars.
Within easy access of both Central London and the South of England, the house makes an ideal base for a family holiday, or a short-let for international visitors & expatriates coming home to visit. The house is also well located for those working at Brunel University Uxbridge, Pinewood Film Studios, and the headquarters of both Bosch UK & InterContinental Hotels Group at Denham Broadwater Park.

The cottage has a 'farmhouse style' kitchen, with an exposed-brick chimney and wood burner. It's the focal point of the house and everyone usually congregates around the long table! It is very well-equipped for cooking and dining and has double oven, gas hob, large fridge & freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. There is also an iron & ironing board.
A recently built family-room is combined with the kitchen and has views over the garden. It's furnished with a comfortable sofa bed, a writing desk and stereo. Just off this room is a downstairs WC.
At the front of the house there's a sitting room with lounge seating for three, log burning stove, HD TV with cinema sound system, Blue Ray DVD player and views over open fields to the front.
Upstairs there's a large master bedroom, furnished with a solid oak king-size bed and fitted wardrobes. This bedroom has beautiful original features like a cast-iron fireplace, polished wood floors, cottage-style sloping ceilings and windows and open views over fields to the front.
The second bedroom is also furnished with a double bed and antique pine wardrobe.
The third bedroom is furnished with a single bed (with additional pull-out single underneath) and antique pine wardrobe.
To make your nights completely snug, all our bedding is 'feather and down' and the bed linen is cotton.
The bathroom is located between the three bedrooms and has a bath, good over-bath shower, washbasin and WC. A large window gives views over the gardens and surrounding fields.
A foldaway travel cot, baby gate, high chair and car seat are available upon request. We also have a good selection of toys & games for young children and a small range of DVDs. Children's TV channels are available on the TV.

The garden is to the side of the house, fully-enclosed and safe for children. It's laid to lawns with flowerbeds containing roses, jasmine, agapanthus, laurels and an old apple tree to bake pies in September.
All bed & bathroom linen is included in the rental.

Heating and utilities are included for rentals of up to 4 weeks. Longer stays may be billed separately (please enquire).
A damage deposit of £500 is requested for stays of up to 4 weeks. Longer stays may be more. This can be made via credit card guarantee if preferred and will be refunded at the end of your stay less the replacement cost of any breakages.
Pets are not accepted here - sorry.
Smoking is not permitted inside the house - sorry.
Please note: our house is near to the railway station (conveniently!) and local trains pass immediately behind. The noise is not particularly intrusive and you very quickly become used it; however we feel it's important to point this out.
The South East England region
Just five minutes from the M25/M40 motorway junction, the house also makes a great base from which to tour the south of England, visiting towns like Windsor, Eton, Marlow, Henley-on-Thames, Aylesbury, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon. At the gateway to the rolling Chiltern Hills, you can also enjoy the many scenic walks and cosy pubs.
Other nearby places to visit are Royal Ascot, Legoland in Windsor, Beckonscott model village at Beaconsfield, Thorpe Park amusement park, Black Park country park, Burnham Beeches woodlands and the National Trust Cliveden House.
Denham Village is a beautiful old village located to the west of London, approximately 18 km north of London Heathrow airport. Famous for its old Film Studios, the village was until recently best known as the home of the late actor Sir John Mills. With a choice of 3 oldie-worldie pubs (our favourite the gastropub ‘The Swan’), you can enjoy excellent food and drinks in the gardens during the summer or by the log fire in the winter.
The house is just a 2 minute walk from Denham train station, from where you can take an air-conditioned train to London Marylebone (stopping at Wembley Stadium) taking 25 minutes. Within 40 minutes of leaving home you can be sightseeing, shopping or enjoying a West-End show! At the end of a long day, a quick train ride home and you can soon be enjoying the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside.
Denham has its own small aerodrome and there's also a choice of 2 golf courses within walking distance of the house. A superb new sports and leisure centre (with indoor and outdoor pools) has recently opened just 5 minutes’ drive away.
Local shopping facilities and restaurants can be found just 100 metres walk away and include two minimarkets, Post Office, butchers, fish & chip shop, Boots chemist, petrol station and cash dispenser.

"Beautiful Cottage - 5 Star Service"
We stayed at Station Cottages for 5 weeks and could not have been happier with our stay. The owner, Paul, greeted us on arrival and was so friendly and helpful, I felt immediately that we were in safe hands. The cottage itself was absolutely lovely and there had been real care and attention put into every detail. It was beautifully presented and fully equipped with everything we needed during our visit and also felt at once very cosy and homely. There were plenty of toys for my two children who loved our stay here and had great fun playing in the garden. It is very near to the train station so the trains do whoosh past, but this never felt intrusive – just part of the experience! And being just minutes away from links into central London, we could only see this as an added bonus. The surrounding wood and Denham itself were equally charming. A fully recommended 5 star Service.

"Would we stay again? Definitely!"
You could not fault this place at all. A beautiful, well appointed cottage, a fabulous location - right next to the railway station yet tucked away giving you a feeling of privacy and seclusion. On arrival, we were met by the owner, Paul - a thoroughly lovely man who could not do enough for us. We arrived to a fridge that was stocked with all the essentials - milk, bread, eggs, juice and even a lasagna - well and truly enough to tide us over until we could get to the supermarket. Our 3 year old enjoyed the numerous toys that were available to him and the gorgeous garden was a major plus ... We will definitely be planning to stay here when we make another trip to the UK. "Perfectly appointed cottage was amazing for our family vacation"
Station cottage far exceeded our expectations of what we wanted for our family vacation getaway. Paul was a hugely welcoming and accommodating host and his house is wonderfully appointed down to the finest details.
Beds were comfortable, seating areas lovely and a family eat-in kitchen that has inspired us to remodel our own.
Our 3 y/o was delighted with the abundance of toys and dress-up items for him to play with as well as the fenced in gardens to explore. Also Paul made available other essential items when travelling with a young family (high chair, stair gate, car seat etc.).
The location as well was perfect for us, only 20 mins by train into central London but down a quiet private street you really did feel you were in middle of the countryside. We loved exploring the woods in front of the cottage, especially as they lead to 3 delightful pubs in Denham Village.
Local towns Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield are very nice as well and have everything needed (we visited model village and legoland
We highly recommend a stay here for a family getaway, close enough to London but in the countryside enough to not be bothered by all the hustle and bustle. Certainly we shall be staying again.

"Home from home"
Our family of four had a lovely stay at the cottage. It was clean, furnished to a high standard, has a fully equipped and provisioned kitchen and a good selection of books, DVDs and toys. Paul left us comprehensive information about activities in the locality as well as in Central London, which is only a short journey away.
Checking in and out were very efficient and Paul kept in communication in case we had further needs. All in all a great holiday and I'd highly recommend this property.

"Excellent mixture of convenience to town and relaxed village."
Lovely cottage, well equipped & maintained.
Location excellent offering an easy drive or mainline or underground train access to London.
Also close to country and walking distance to local shops, restaurants and pubs.

"Beautiful, restful and everything you need - the near perfect package"
1 Station Cottages proved to be ideal for us as an escape from London - near enough to be able to go to the bright lights (only 25 mins on the train to Marylebone) but far enough to be able to enjoy the wonderful woods and village of Denham and the walks of the Chilterns.
The cottage is charming and extremely well appointed, equipped with everything you'll need.
The owners are enormously helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for them to make our stay a success.
Don't be put off by the trains - you get used to the low level of noise very quickly, and the convenience of the station is a real plus.

"Home away from Home"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay – it felt like a home away from home the minute we walked through the door. Your welcome and the provision of a few necessities was truly appreciated. My eldest even started referring to it as our England home!
I cannot think of any negatives – the small details like the provision of toys were part and parcel of what made our stay so comfortable. Overall it exceeded our expectations.The convenience of having great transport links was perfect and a short train ride into London meant we could have all the benfits of a London holiday whilst enjoying the serenity of the countryside.
The local area is lovely and had a throughly pleasant time exploring walks and pubs in the area.
Would thoroughly recommend to anybody
