Little Diamond Island in Lake Cobbossee is a unique lake front vacation rental. The island is 1/4 acre in size. Rustic 3 room cabin with lake views from every window. The lake is just steps away in any direction. Sandy bottom swimming areas and the lake is great for boating, canoeing, kayaking or jet skiing. We provide a canoe.
Island vacationing is not for everyone. If you love camping ( not the same as RVing) you will love this. It is a lot like camping except you have a real bed to sleep in. Rustic in nature there is no electricity or running water. We do provide a composting toilet, propane stove and refrigerator. The cabin has one bedroom with queen size bed. and a day bed in kitchen area and a queen size sofa bed. Maximum occupants is 4. We supply blankets, comforters and pillows. We do not supply sheets or towels but arrangements can be made to provdie this for an extra fee.
This is a peaceful spot for anyone who loves nature. Except for the occassional boat the only sounds you hear are the young osprey begging for food in the nest above the cottage and the mournful cry of the loons as they float past the island. You can see nesting osprey, pileated woodpeckers, loons, heron, turtles and occassionally bald eagles and otter.
Sorry but we can not allow pets, smoking or campfires.

The Maine region
Maine is the most northern state in New England. Summer temperatures are mild usually above 68 Fahrenheit ( 20 celsius). Temperatures can range from 60-95 Farenheit. Lake Cobbossee is located in the Kennebec Valley - Moose River Region of Maine, which stretches all the way from the Maine capital, Augusta to the Canadian border. White water rafting is one of the most popular drawcards of this region in Maine and most of the whitewater rafting companies are located there.
West Gardiner / Winthrop Lakes Area, Lake Cobbossee area
Little Diamond Island is located in Lake Cobbossee in West Gardiner Maine. Lake Cobbossee is a beautiful lake that is nine miles long. We are located on a quiet cove. The lake was a popular resort during the 1900s.
This lake is well known for its great fishing and tournaments are held throughout the year. It is a peaceful setting with natural beauty but within minutes of area attractions. It is 20 minutes south of the Capitol of Augusta, 1 hour from Boothbay, Camden and the coast, 30 minutes from Bath Maine, 2 hours to Acadia National Park. Shakespearean theatre close by as well as antique shops.
