They're all just a few miles away. And so is Plymouth, the historic waterside city where Laurel & Hardy made their last public appearance together, Darwin set off from on his world-changing voyage in The Beagle, and Scott of the Antarctic was born.
Do not forget to visit the Royal William Yard packed with history, restaurants and fantastic sea views.

Take it easy in your own private sauna and Arctic Fox hot tub to enjoy as you wish. And if you're in need of retail therapy, there's modern shopping malls Drakes Circus in nearby Plymouth and Exeter, and pretty boutiques in Totnes and Truro.
Some amazing walks to Wembury Beach, Bovisand and Noss Mayo.
The Devon region
Treetops is a splendid base for a break, whether you just want to get away from it all and do nothing at all for a couple of weeks, or fancy something more active. Our enviable position in South Devon with spectacular beaches, moors, coastal walks and the vibrant, historic waterside city of Plymouth all on our doorstep makes the world of the Westcountry your oyster.
And you don't have to drive far to find historic sites, spectacular scenery, outstanding sports facilities, or modern shopping malls. If you've time to venture further afield, you could visit the surfing beaches of Cornwall, the Eden Project or the artists' colony of St Ives. Some of our guests do a bit of both – an active week followed by a week of relaxation back at Treetops.
Nearby Film Locations
Dartmoor the location for "War Horse", Antony House where "Alice in Wonderland "was filmed and "I Bought a Zoo" at Dartmoor Wildlife Park at Sparkwell are all nearby.
The Westcountry is the perfect destination for foodies, with a fabulous choice of Modern British restaurants and gastro-pubs including on your doorstep, The Rose and Crown at Yealmpton, Langdon Court, 2 fields away, Odd Wheel Pub 1km walk. In Plymouth you have The Barbican Kitchen - Tanner Brothers, Gary Rhodes at the Plymouth Dome and River Cottage, Hugh Fearnley - Whittingstall at the Royal William Yard. If you want to try something different go to Town Mills Bakery for breakfast or lunch at the Secco Lounge and try the fantastic Le Vignoble wine bar and now open, Wagamamas, Las Iquanas and Le Pierre Bistrot all also located in the Historic Royal William Yard. Walk to Bovisand and have a fantastic brekfast at the cafe we recommend it.
Slightly further away you have Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant (Padstow), Jamie Oliver's Fifteen ( Watergate Bay), or Michael Caines at Gidley Park (Chagford).
We know them all and many more, and we'll be delighted to make recommendations including Japanese, Thai, Moroccan, Chinese and Italian. Closer to home, we're just down the road from Mewstone the local farm shop of TV fame which offers the finest quality organic meat, perfect for lazy evenings by the barbecue.

"Treetops is a pleasant, peaceful, clean, cosy property."
Our short, brief time at Treetops was excellent. We were in Plymouth to spend time with my 5 year lad over the weekend. We arranged with Louise, the owner a time to pick up the keys, shown around the property and allowed to settle in.
While my lad played with his toys, Louise delivered logs for the log burner. A cosy evening in a spacious, clean, and peaceful setting. Perfect for spending quality time with family.
The morning revealed a stunning view through the bedroom window. Louise and her husband gave us plenty of time to leave the property and was more than helpful with little tips on the area.
Thank you for the lovely stay, see you soon.

Just had the most fantatic week at Treetops the accomodation was spacious well equiped, very clean and we received a warm welcome on arrival.
The location and views are wonderful we especially enjoyed reading on the balcony overlooking the outstanding, private and countryside views.
We walked daily either on the doorstep or not having to travel far with the added luxury of relaxing privately in the hot tub or sauna on our return.
This is a perfect holiday for a relaxing romanitic break with a partner or equally I would return with my children to expolre the local beaches able to relax at night with a glass of wine in peace and quiet!!
A truly relaxing find !! Thank you so much we loved it and hope to return soon.

"Basement flat with restricted headroom"
We booked the property for a walking holiday and the extra indulgence of the hot tub after long walks. On arrival the hot tub was not working, and the toilet would not flush.
We were told the hot tub had just been serviced and was fine, 5 days later, it was due for a service, the engineer was phoned but no one turned up to repair it.
The toilet took 5 days to get repaired, yes it was a bank holiday, but we feel a regular plumber would have come out quicker.
After 2 requests, we were refunded £60 for the broken hot tub, which did not cover the inconvenience we had.
The property description is misleading. The property is a large basement flat, with restricted light due to a full length veranda covered by the balcony of the main property above.
Access is via a steep gravel driveway.
The ceilings are all low; the lounge has a large beam across its width only 5ft 6inch high. There was a second beam slighter higher as well.
A dehumidifier had been left full of water in the bedroom pointing to a dampness/condensation problem, though we never noticed any dampness whilst we were there.
The garden drops down steeply some 30 to 40 ft and is unsuitable for young children and unusable, and of an evening not well lit.
We believe that bad reviews will help us improve the quality of the accommodation, all point's have been addressed, the hot tub and flush have now been fixed, we do apologise but things do go wrong and it did not help that it was Easter Weekend.
We cannot change the location of Treetops and would not want to it's what makes Treetops special as you will see when looking at the photograph's and the amazing views.
We have two children who have loved playing on the banks and woods since they were two years old it is a Country Holiday location.
The holiday price had already been discounted before the refund for the Hot Tub going wrong.
Thank you for the review it's the first bad review that we have had in 18mths of holidays and 2 years as a long term rent, it really made us realise how much we do care about making your holiday special and we believe that the accommodation is now even better than before.

A great place for relaxing holiday. After visiting Plymout or having long walks in a woods or on a seaside at day time, soak in a hot tub and steam in a sauna at evening. This is how we spent time at Treetops. The owners are very kind and supportive and there is a lot of information available about the area at the property.
Fantastic review, will think of offering a groceries shop for any guest that need it
