Mowbarton (the Saxon word for Cow Shed), is part of a contemporary gated development which includes an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym as well as a fishing lake and tennis court. Mowbarton has been converted to an extremely high standard and includes a host of modern features. The kitchen has the very lastest technology including a built in coffee machine and a wine cooler. The living area comprises of ample open plan space with vaulted oak beamed ceiling surrounded by floor to ceiling glass giving excellent views of the surrounding countryside & Wells Cathedral. Double doors open out from both kitchen and living area to give access directly into the grounds and garden. The three double bedrooms all have built in wardrobe space and two have satellite television. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room. The family bathroom is spacious and is equipped with an aquavision TV. The whole property is served by the latest technology including i-pod dock, in ceiling speakers, CD/DVD players, wireless internet and Sky HD televison channels. The property has underfloor heating througout.

The exterior of the property has a large terrace with table, chairs and a modern barbecue. Residents of the property have access to the private spa, swimming pool, gym & tennis court which is situated within the development and the magnificent grounds of 200 acres which includes a coarse fishing lake, open fields, park and woodland. There is private parking for 2 vehicles immediately outside the property.

The historic City of Wells is just a short 45 minute drive from the beautiful City of Bath (UNESCO World Heritage City). The 22 mile route heads over the Mendip Hills and opens up a gateway to the one of England's less explored gems - Somerset. Wells makes an ideal destination for a holiday break and has much to see in it as well as providing an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area.
Wells is a medieval city nestling on the southern side of the Mendip Hills with the mystic Somerset Levels stretching away to the south and west. The history of Wells goes right back to Roman times when we know that there was a settlement, probably because of the springs that bubble up here. Wells gets its name from these springs which can today be found in the gardens of the Bishop's Palace.
Wells is the smallest city in England with about 12,000 inhabitants. It can call itself a city because of the famous 13th century Cathedral. It remains remarkably unspoilt and has many other historic buildings including the moated Bishop's Palace, Vicars' Close, St Cuthbert's Church and a good local museum. The Wells Market Place, with lively markets twice a week, the narrow streets and an eclectic mix of building styles all reflect on the continuing development of the town throughout the ages.
Within 25 miles you can visit many attractions which include the famous caves at Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge & Caves, Glastonbury Abbey and Glastonbury Tor, Stourhead, Muchelney Abbey and the Fleet Air Arm Museum. The beautiful variety of landscapes ranging from coastal scenery, the Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels provide a wonderful playground for all sorts of activities including, caving, abseiling, horse riding, walking, cycling and nature watching.

"Great property, Great Facilites, Great Location, Great Time"
We had a fantastic stay over Easter at this property. The barn has all the mod cons you would wish for. There is a great view from the light and airy living room (photos on holiday lettings dont do it justice). The on site facilites (pool, spa, beauty treatments, tennis, etc) are of a very good standard - so much so, we didnt really go anywhere for the first few days. Wells & Glastonbury are within easy reach, and have a good selection of restaurants. Had two good days out at Longleat and Wookey Hole, both within easy driving. John was easy to deal with, and made every effort to ensure we had a great week. All in all just what we were after - highly recommended.
