Further details indoors

The ground floor features a south-facing garden room, a well-equipped kitchen and a living room. In winter the wood burner stove provides extra "cosiness".

The stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor landing, bathroom/toilet, double bedroom and twin bedded room with a sea-glimpse. Heating is by gas fired central heating.

Further details outdoors

The south facing patio has a table, sun brolly and chairs and the lawn is massive - just right for badminton and french cricket. The garden is secure for dogs and children and the beach is a very enjoyable walk or bike ride along the beach bank beside the harbour. There is a beach car park so you could drive or you can take the small train in the summer time.

You can drive your car to within 50m of Rose Cottage for loading/unloading but there is no on-site parking (we provide permits for parking in the nearby town car park when there are seasonal restrictions on the East Quay). The path to the cottage crosses 2 friendly, neighbouring cottage "yards"; Rose Cottage is the last in the row.

The East Anglia region

Our part of the North Norfolk coast is renowned for its big skies, sandy beaches, salt marshes and coastal walks. Picturesque villages with traditional brick and flint cottages; acres of farmland, mainly cereals; quiet roads and lanes which offer good cycling and an excellent bus service that joins up the walks. The RSPB reserves at Titchwell and Cley offer a focus for birdwatchers who are spoilt for choice all the way along the coastal path and inland. Marsh Harriers, Peregrine Falcons, Sparrow Hawks and Barn Owls head up the birds of prey; Terns, Oyster Catchers, Gulls, Curlew, Egret, Redshanks and Sandpipers inhabit the tidal creeks; Mallard, Teal, Widgeon and Shellduck are joined in winter by Brent, Pinkfoot, Greylag and Canada geese. Add in the Warblers, Tits and Finches and plentiful garden birds and don't forget the Pheasant and Partridges - that is just the regulars!

Wells next the Sea is at the centre of the North Norfolk Coast and, with its vibrant street of shops, restaurants and services makes a perfect base to explore the many jewels of North Norfolk. Or you could just "chill" and watch the tide come in and go out again; from fishing boats, windfarm vessels and watersports, when the tide is in, to paddling and endless beaches when the tide is out. This really is a very special place.

"Cozy cottage in a great location"

Great cottage in a great location. The bedrooms are small and a bit wonky but full of character and we all slept well. The ground floor is bigger than the photos look. In particular the sun room is … More
