South Pole Dutch Village is located in Udupila, Mirissa, Weligama electorate in Southern coast of Sri Lanka. The villa is few minutes away from the sandy Mirissa Beach but preserves the ancient atmosphere that is ideal for someone who favours the traditional Sri Lankan Village life filled with tranquillity and productivity. This holiday villa was inherited by the hostess from her great grandfather who was a popular medical doctor in indigenous medicine and is 120 yrs old. It has been built adopting the Dutch Colonial Architecture that includes a very high roof that offers our guests a very cooling and a comfortable environment.

The villa is surrounded by a massive garden which is the home for many varieties of colourful birds including parrots, Storks, doves, woodpeckers, kingfishers, Black-hooded Oriole, peacocks and animals such as porcupines, squirrels, tortoise and rabbits. This is encouraged by the fruit and vegetable plot maintained by our well-experienced gardener that includes okra, aubergines, beans, pumpkins, bitter gourd, snake gourd, tomatoes, beli fruit, passion fruit, bilimbi, mango and the palm trees that produces the refreshing king coconut fruit. Use of the fresh products from the garden and the local market increases the culinary value of the meals we offer to our guests.

The bungalow is comprised of three double rooms with the ensuite bathrooms and one single room with a separate bathroom. Our kitchen is fully equipped and can be used by the guests if requested. Waking up to the chirping of birds our guests can sit in the garden and experience the indulgence of surrounding until they are ready to enjoy their chosen breakfast carefully prepared by the hostess. Our guests have the option of showering outdoor using the well in the garden which will give an insight into the village life in Sri Lanka.
