we spent very nice time in Wiessbriach, which is lovely place in Carynthia. We recommend: Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse and Malta Hochalmstrasse, with stunning views, Raggaschlucht, interesting wandering along the stream, very beautiful churches and cathedral in:Gurk, Friesach, Leiden. In the neighbouhood of Weissbriach are localised lovely lakes, like Weissensee, Wortersee and others. The apartment was comfortable and The Owners were hospitable and nice |

My grandmother used to live nearby in Villach and as we were taking my mother with us, to revisit places familiar to us, we needed an apartment base for a two week holiday. Our two bedroom en-suite apartment with the Woodworths was ideal. It is clean and well furnished to a high standard, well equipped with all mod cons. We had our two young children with us and the apartment block had ample free facilities for the guests to use to entertain them. There is a games room with free DVDs and books. The garden has a trampoline and a table tennis table. The village of Weissbriach is absolutely charming and has a decent little Spar supermarket and some restaurants. But a major plus for a family holiday was the large Village Swimming Pool just across the road. A car is advised, but we drove down from Calais, a trip that was not too daunting with an overnight stop en-route and then you save on hiring a car there. The entire region of Carinthia / Karnten is scenically very beautiful, with lots to see and do. It was one of the best holidays we have had and we would certainly consider going there again and would have no qualms at staying at the Woodworth Apartments again. I understand that they do have a clientele already that goes there year after year and it is easy to see why. Both Sue and Bryn Woodworth were very helpful and hospitable and a fount of knowledge and advice about local attractions. |

We have spent two beautiful summer holidays here (2009 and 2010). I took a risk as I saw Austria on the TV and wanted to visit in the summer, my husband wasn't so sure. It met my expectations and more, my husband and family (daughter now 5 and son now 14) agreed. Some days we visited mountains, went mountain biking (down the mountain was most fun), visited lakes and set sail, rode the the cable cars and came down on the dry luge (tobogan run), and on others we went across the road to the pool to enjoy the sunshine. I would wholly recommend buying a Karnten card, this allows free entry to the above attractions, pools etc and saves a heap of cash (you can buy them in the village). We even returned home with £200! We hired a car for the duration of the holiday, which is I think, essential and because we live in the Midlands, flew into Venice the first year and Trieste the second (this is a much better drive). Sue and Bryn are fabulous, so helpful and friendly. The apartments are lovely, spacious and clean equipt with everything you could need. The mountains and lakes have definitely won our hearts and we will be returning next year (2012), we've missed it very much. |
