KERALA AYURYOGA, a holistic life style center located in Gods Own Country, Kerala Wayanad, offers a pleasant climate and natural settings where you can experience traditional Ayurveda, Yoga, various meditation and relaxation techniques, Mantras Agnihotra, and much more. Our aim is to establish an environment and culture that promotes a healthy and balanced lifestyle, energy and peace.

The retreat is situated in Kerala, in the South of India. Kerala is well known over the world to be the original place of Ayurveda and is famous for it´s wonderful food specialities. The retreat is located in Kerala´s district of Wayanad, nearby the city Sulthan Bathery , an approx. two hours drive from the nearest international airport in Calicut/Kozkihode which you can reach with Emirates Airlines.

Wayanad district is nestled amidst the majestic mountains and valleys of Western Ghats and is famous all over India for its pristine beauty and admirable climate. Two famous national parks are located near to the resort, in which the biggest free living tiger population worldwide resides, as well as elephants, monkeys, deer and more then 30 species of birds.

The treatment center is located near in nature, among coffee, coconut, banana, mango trees which are visited by wild living animals like e.g. monkeys and singing birds. A big variety of plants grows in the resort, among them also herbs and spices used in daily preparation of your ayurvedic dishes. From the resort you can have a nice view over the nearby valley, local mountains and the famous “Elephant Rock”.

1. EDAKKAL CAVES: Magnificent rock caves with prehistoric carvings on the wall believed to be dating to at least 5000 BC, indicating the presence of a prehistoric civilization or settlement in this region.. Edakkal Caves are two natural caves located 1,200 metres above sea level. The Stone Age carvings of Edakkal are rare and are the only known examples from south India.

2. HISTORICAL JAIN TEMPLEs in Sulthan Bathery and surroundings: This Jain temple Wayanad is dedicated to the great Jain saint Ananthanatha swami constructed in the thirteenth century. King Tippusultan stored his ammunition in this fort during his reign, therefore it is also called Tippu's fort or Sulthan Bathery. This temple and its surroundings have served as an essential place for commercial developments.

3. MUTHANGA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY: The key fauna includes elephant, spotted deer, gaur, sloth bear and large variety of birds and reptiles.

4. BANASURA SAGAR DAM: 2nd largest earth dam in South Asia. The island at the reservoir in the backdrop of Banasura hills provides a spectacular scenic view.

5. CHEMBRA PEAK: Is the highest peak in Wayanad. at 2,100 metres (6,900 ft) above sea level and one of the major tourist attractions in Wayanad, Kalpetta.

6. KURUVA ISLAND: Excellent picnic spot located at the Kabani River. The island has rare species of birds, orchids and herbs.

7. SOOJIPPARA WATERFALLS: Three beautiful waterfalls amidst scenic surroundings are 15km, 48km and 23km away respectively. At Soochippara there are stretches of waterfalls which are at high altitudes ranging from 100 to 300 feet height. MEENMUTTY WATERFALLS: Meenmutty falls is a 300 metre high three-tiered fall. The biggest and most magnificent falls in Wayanad.

8. Phantom Rock Phantom rock is other beautiful location near Ambalavayal. This rock is named Phantom because of its skull shape. Surroundings of this rock provide beautiful scenery for photographers.

9. Chain Tree: A large Ficus tree bounded by a long chain. There is an interesting story behind this Chain tree. It is said that one adivasi youth named Karinthandan helped or guided one British engineer to find the difficult path through the dense forest to Wayanad. But the crooked engineer who wanted to take the full credit of this discovery killed Karinthandan. The angry soul of this adivasi started troubling travelers who used to visit Wayanad. It is said that one priest chained this angry spirit to this tree.
