A high priority for golfers but it will also appeal to families looking to combine a countryside activity holiday with traditional relaxation at one of the many delightful sandy beaches on the North Norfolk coast.

It would also be an ideal location for a small business wishing to hold an away golf day for customers or a regional sales management meeting with an overnight stay. The golf club has a fully furnished corporate meeting room that is available for hire.

Although this is a self catering holiday property, our guests have full access to the clubhouse, bar and restaurant where you can eat throughout the day at breakfast, lunch and dinner or relax outside with a drink overlooking the 18th green after another successful round of golf.

Our golfing guests will be able to enjoy reduced rate green fees throughout their stay at Richmond Park and also at a number of other golf courses around the area.

The golf club is further developing the site to the rear of our lodge with the addition of 6 more dwellings. Construction is underway and three units directly behind us have been completed and are now for sale as at the 1st April 2011. This will not impact on your privacy or on your enjoyment of the property.

An excellent boarding kennels for visitors with dogs is situated in the adjacent village of Saham Toney 1 mile from the lodge.

The East Anglia region

Watton is conveniently located in central Norfolk within easy reach of Norwich, Kings Lynn, Thetford and Swaffham and the very popular boutique towns of Holt and Burnham Market. The wonderful North Norfolk beaches of Holkham, Brancaster, Wells, Blakeney and Hunstanton are within 40 minutes drive. There are a number of fine National Trust properties and private houses/estates in the area which are open to the public throughout the year, and of course the royal estate and house at Sandringham is a must for visitors to this region.

Famous for its artist communities, the area is an ideal location for those who wish to capture the beauty of the Norfolk scenery or wildlife on film or canvas. The coastal area around Salthouse, Cley, Blakeney and Brancaster is a mecca for bird watchers, and wildlife enthusiasts are well catered for by the numerous sites around the area that are managed by the Wildlife Trusts, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trusts and the Norfolk Ornithologists Association.

Although the Norfolk coast is renowned for its bracing air, the locals also claim with good reason, that this is one of the driest parts of England.

Watton is a small market town with a wide range of shops including a specialist local butcher together with a Tesco and a new Co-Op supermarket for all your provisions during your holiday. Around Watton there are a number of local attractions including the remnants of an iron age settlement at the Iceni Village nature reserve and museum near Swaffham and in Swaffham itself, recently made famous as the location for the TV series Kingdom starring Stephen Fry, is the educational EcoTech Centre where the enthusiasts can go up to the top of one of their two giant wind turbines. This is very interesting site.

Between Fakenham and Holt you will find the wonderfully nostalgic and impressive Thursford Collection of steam engines including showmans, fairground, road building and farming engines. For nature lovers you could combine this day out with a visit to nearby Pensthorpe, the home of the successful series of BBC television Spring Watch wildlife programmes.

For younger children there are a number of local places of interest including the ever popular Dinosaur Park and the Butterfly Centre.

For the more energetic family why not have a day out at The High Lodge Forest Centre in the middle of Theford Forest where you can play, picnic, walk, ramble or off road cycle and for the really adventurous family you could try "The Go Ape" tree top high wire and ropeway adventure as it snakes its way though the forest.

"What a Gem!"

Loved this accomodation from the moment we arrived! Great views from both sitting areas. Lovely and spacious with plenty of privacy. Had a great week and would love to return. Children had plenty of space upstairs to play on their WII. We had plenty of peace & quiet reading downstairs! Perfect. Very comfortable beds and fresh air resulted in the best nights sleep we've had for ages!! Many thanks for letting us stay.
