Enquire nowThe East Anglia / Norfolk region
Norfolk is a county of contrasts, the only common theme being the flat landscape and the beautiful big skies. Over recent years Norfolk has been one of the sunniest places in the UK, with long dry spells and temperatures often higher than typical european holiday destinations. Whether you are looking for long sweeping beaches, inland waterways, places of historic and cultural interest, nature reserves, or beautiful countryside in which to walk, cycle or just relax, Norfolk has it all.
The Watton area
Five minutes walk from the lodge is the High Street of Watton - a quaint, small market town which hasn't changed a great deal since the 50's. It has the convenience of major stores for day-to-day shopping and some great places to eat, alongside the curiosity of little independent shops that stock items that will whisk you straight back into the nostalgia of childhood memories.
The town is a 15 minute drive from Thetford Forest, which has a terrific Go Ape centre (including zip lines in the treetops) and where top acts feature at the regular open air concerts. Also about 15 minutes drive away, you'll find one of the best private zoos in the country, with its' own 'train' that the kids all love.
Half an hour to the east is Norwich - a capital city with a truly unique character - a fascinating mix of cobbled streets and state-of-the art architecture, renowned for being the most complete medieval city in Britain and one
of the top 5 places to shop in the country.
Travel on a little further and you will reach The Norfolk Broads - Britain's largest, protected wetlands, home to some of the UK's rarest plants and wildlife. Hire a boat, fish, cycle or just enjoy the picturesque windmills and breath-taking scenery.
The Norfolk Coastline is some 45 minutes away and offers something for everyone - the most beautiful sweeping beaches fringed by pine trees at Holkham and Wells-Next-the-Sea, delicious seafood at traditional seaside towns like Cromer, Hunstanton and Sheringham, seal-watching trips at Blakeney or the fun of the amusement park at Great Yarmouth.
There are also plenty of English Heritage sites nearby and lots of adventure parks to keep the younger members of the family happy.

We have stayed at the Fairway Lodge on four seperate occasions both with family and seperately with friends. The Stanadard of accomodation is excellent with everthing you need and much more, to make your stay enjoyable. The lodge offers loads of space and the opportunity to relax in comfort. The owners are friendly and approachable and nothing is to much trouble for them, from the moment you book till the moment you leave. There are a number of local attractions, restaurants and pubs which offer excellent cuisine. All in all, a wonderful place to stay... I guarantee you won't be disappointed !!! |
