About the home

St Teresas is a beautiful cottage with a rich history. Situated on the Grade 1 listed Lanherne Convent estate, the property dates back to the late 1800s.

The convent was originally the manor house of the Arundell family - once the most wealthy and influential family in Cornwall, it was a gift to the Carmelite nuns in 1794. Today the convent is home to the St Joseph and St Anne Roman Catholic Church and the Franciscan Friars and sisters of the immaculate.

Although recently renovated, the cottage retains some original features such as the internal doors, steep staircase and the Grade 2 listed walled garden, covered in Wisteria. Internally the cottage has been renovated to a high standard boasting a log burner. Externally the cottage offers two beautiful gardens, the perfect place to relax and dine al fresco.
