The Shieling is a spacious and bright, single-storey, luxury, detached property. It is highly recommended for its excellent location, open aspect and magnificent sea views towards Coquet Island and Warkworth Castle. Well insulated, warm and cosy with oil-fired central heating the Shieling is an ideal base for both couples and families, providing a cheerful retreat for a stress-free, relaxing break in winter or summer.

This superb, single storey property provides high standard accommodation with a feature floor to roof window and vaulted ceiling. It is finished to a superior standard with quality furnishings and fittings, well equipped and with great attention to detail. It has a large lawn and gravel garden with garden furniture. The living area opens to an attractive conservatory with views towards the sea. The Shieling sleeps six in three comfortable, harmonious bedrooms, one en-suite and two with sea views.

The property is centrally located for touring the inland areas of Northumberland and the Heritage coast. Historic Alnwick with its spectacular garden and castle, recently showcased in Harry Potter films, is within easy reach (five miles). The bus to Alnwick passes the entrance to the grounds. Historic sites galore and contrasting coast and country offer a holiday full of variety in this charming family run cottage. "Comfortable and Spacious - a real 'home from home'"

Very spacious 'wow factor' property. Lovely and warm, well kept and modern. A well equipped and comfortable place to stay in this exceptional and beautiful 'coast and castle' county.
Exceptional walking and cycling on the newly-built coastal cycle path.
If you are impressed by the surroundings during the day, wait until it gets dark! In this designated 'dark place' you will see stars like you wouldn't believe.
The place is awesome.
The Masons Arms in Warkworth has free wi-fi. If you need to stay in touch with the outside world, you may need to go for a pint!

"What a lovely surprise!"

The lodge was much more spacious than we had expected.
Carole was waiting to welcome us and showed us round. All mod cons were there, almost too many of them! The space was light, airy, warm and spotless. There were plenty of books, including books and games for the children. There was plenty information about what there was to do in the area. Shopping for food was not a problem with large supermarkets in Alnwick and Amble. Although we were there for only three days, we visited Alnwick, Alnmouth beach, Warkworth and Amble. All in all a quiet, super location.

I love Northumberland and enjoy sharing it with my guests. It is great to hear you enjoyed your trip to The Shieling.
Thanks for the kind comments.
Carole Ann.

"Peaceful location, spacious modern lodge, wonderful views."

The Shieling is a fantastic place to stay and explore Northumberland. Warkworth and Amble are only minutes away by car for local facilities and attractions whilst the market town of Alnwick with its beautiful gardens and wonderful castle is just a little further. The lodge itself is clean modern, well equipped and spacious and was perfect for our family of 5. The sea view and peaceful location were ideal for relaxing after a busy day of sight seeing

Ideally placed for all of Northumberland's great attractions and beaches. Great social living area and warm, cosy and comfortable. Conservatory space great for a relaxing snooze or curl up with a book for a quiet read.
