Northern England region

The northerly county of Northumberland is a hidden gem of totally unspoilt countryside and wonderful long stretches of pristine sandy beaches.
If you want to stretch your legs and breathe in clean country air this is the place for you, with miles of wide open spaces and magnificent views. The county has three distinct sub regions; a coastline stretching some forty miles with quiet sandy beaches and pretty coastal harbour villages. Inland visitors will find dramatic rolling moorland and forests, much of which is National Park and to the south of the region is the famous Hadrian's Wall which runs coast to coast and is now a World Heritage Site.
Apart from Northumberland's natural assets the county is steeped in history and has had a turbulent past which is characterised by more than its fair share of castles and ancient hill forts, some of which were built to repel Viking invaders. It was also the scene of the border wars and conflicts between the English and Scots in the 14th-16th century.

Warkworth

Roseate House is in the centre of Warkworth, a beautiful coastal village. You are a stroll from Warkworth Castle, the River Coquet, charming pubs, restaurants, shops and galleries. The cottage is near a delightful sandy beach.
Not far is the historic town of Alnwick, offering sightseeing and entertainment opportunities including Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Two miles from Warkworth is Amble, offering fishing and boat trips to Coquet Island.
This is a perfect property for those looking for holiday cottages in Northumberland. Whether a romantic weekend getaway or a large family gathering, Roseate House is ideal.

"Best Placed Cottage"

Really well placed cottage for Northumberland overall and also for local amenities without the need to get in the car; newsagents and general store, 4 pubs, restaurants, medieval castle, riverside walks, half mile to local beach. What more could you want or need?!

Quaint, roomy cottage. Spacious bedrooms; 2 x doubles and 1 x twin and a very spacious bathroom on first floor. There is also a shower room with wc on the converted loft floor.

Sun is in the garden in the mornings, we had breakfast outside every morning of our 3 night stay during the last bank holiday weekend in May.

Lovely accommodation, thank you.
