The West Country / Dorset region
The Lindens is set in the picturesque village of East Lulworth, a few miles inland from the sea at Lulworth Cove and the stunninhg Jurassic Coast. Lulworth Cove is a stunning natural cove and there are other sandy beaches a few miles drive away. Corfe Castle, Studland Bay and Wareham are all a short drive away; and you can easily cross the ferry to Sandbanks, Poole and Bournemouth.
95 miles of East Devon and Dorset coastline were awarded World Heritage Site status, ranking the Jurassic Coast alongside the Grand Canyon and Great Barrier Reef as one of the natural wonders of the world.
The Wareham / Lulworth Cove area
The Lindens is set in a beautiful valley just inland from the Jurassic coast, with plenty to amuse all ages when you are able to tear yourself away from the house and gardens.
Lulworth Cove
You can happily spend an entire holiday at Lulworth Cove - part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Head to the beach, which is shingle, not sandy, but still fun to play on. Paddle, swim, or just enjoy the amazing view. Go crabbing in the rock pools (buy a net in the village - and bring some bacon with you). Walk or climb up to the cliff top and marvel at amazing geology of the Stair Hole. Hunt for fossils. Clamber over the rocks and find a sea cave. Walk around the cove. Enjoy a Dorset cream tea. Take a walk from Lulworth Cove to the stunning stone arch of Durdle Door, one of the most photographed landmarks along the Jurassic Coast. Below the cliffs lies a sweeping beach that was once three separate coves.
Sandy beaches
For miles of sandy beach head over to Studland Bay - or for a wonderul, rocky, seaside nature reserve visit Kimmeridge Bay - both a short drive from the house. A Ramblers' poll voted the Jurassic journey along the clifftops from Kimmeridge to Durdle Door as the best walk in Britain!
Castles
Take a walk down the road to Lulworth Castle & Park, a great castle with lots to see. Or visit Corfe Castle, a romantic ruin dating from the time of William the Conqueror. Let you children's imaginations run wild while they explore the ruins - and there are events throughout the year. At the foot of the castle The Tea Rooms is a good spot for a break, with a summer garden and winter log fires.
For the Grown Ups
Country pursuits can be arranged close by to the house, including clay pigeon shooting, quad biking or even deer stalking. Or relax and be pampered in the house by a team of beauty therapists. Horse riding, cycle hire and watersports can also be arranged for you during your stay.
