Seashells is a fabulous beach apartment in a fantastic position directly overlooking and just a few feet from the beach and sea.
Newly painted, the original Georgian building looks great, with chandeliers, wooden flooring and a shiny white kitchen built in to the original arch.
Seashells is a one bedroom apartment comfortably sleeping 4 adults, 2 in the bedroom and 2 on the superb leather double bed settee. There is also a huge leather corner sofa in the living room which squares up with the pouffee to make another very comfortable double sleeping area for up to 2 occasional guests (for a small extra charge). This apartment has been tastefully and sympathetically restored over many months and offers its guests quality relaxing modern comforts.
The huge living area is approximately 20' x 16' directly overlooking the beach through the huge arched original Georgian sash windows, with feature marble hearth and fireplace, high ceilings, chandeliers, solid pine flooring and open plan kitchen area.
There is a large jacuzzi bath with shower, perfect to relax in after a hard day sunbathing on the beach or an out-of -season stroll to the Naze. All essentials are in the new kitchen area. White gloss kitchen units, microwave, oven, fridge with freezer section etc have all been built in to the original arch. Parking is never a problem as you can park in front of Seashells

Seashells is full of character and very comfortable. The apartment was gutted by the owner and put back together to maintain the period charm whilst incorporating all modern comforts, mainly for her own use. Hence the furnishings are all excellent quality, with huge leather corner sofa, very comfortable leather double sofabed, real pine floors & chandeliers.
The central heating is exceptionally efficient so it is a great place to stay out of season as well as in the summer.
The jacuzzi bath is a little extra luxury after a long day on the beach chasing after the children or just as a romantic end to the day if you fancy sharing it!!
There are 2 huge Georgian windows that directly overlook the beach just 5 yards from your door and if you fancy something other than watching the sea, there is SKY tv and freeview channels.

You can park the car directly in front of the apartment. Your car and the small access road are the only things between you and the beach!
The Essex region
Situated along the Essex Sun Shine Coast, Seashells is located right on the sea front between the town centre and the Walton Naze with its famous tower which now hosts a coffee/tea room and a gallery. The Naze and the Walton backwaters are a bird watchers paradise with numerous species populating the area as well as making for excellent rambling (walking) and cycling.
The Tourist Office told me this is the warmest place in England..not sure its entirely true, but certainly it always seems to be sunny in Walton when it is cloudy a little inland as you approach the sea!
Walton on the Naze makes the ideal base from which to explore this wonderful coast line, with many quaint villages and village pubs nearby as well as the historical fishing town's of Harwich and Felixstowe a short car journey away.
A few miles drive away is Clacton factory shopping village, with many brand names at discount prices and the historical old town of Colchester.
Walton on the Naze is a traditional English seaside town which still feels like it is in a time warp somewhere in the 60s. It has a wonderful yellow sand beach running from Clacton, through Frinton on sea (where there is a great home made ice cream shop near the beach end), to the lovely Walton Naze (a nature reserve with fantastic wildlife including seals in the backwaters.)
The pier at Walton has amusement arcades and fair ground rides including the dodgems, waltzer as well as tenpin bowling & bingo and is only a 10 minute walk along the promenade. I hear the fishing is good too if thats on your agenda!
There are all the shops you need in Walton including a Tesco Express and Co op and lots of old fashioned hardware, bakery and sweet shops too.
There are numerous restaurants and take aways in Walton. There is an excellent Thai in the town centre and the Carvery at Harbour Lights with stunning views over the harbour and Walton backwaters as well as some excellent seaside fish and chippies!!
There is a swimming pool just behind the apartment so if you fancy a change from the beach you can make use of the flume if you are feeling brave or need to exhaust the children!
There is also a golf course a few minutes drive away

Don't believe a word of this. Please come and see for yourselves and look at our other reviews.
This lady cancelled a booking in October 2013 at the last minute but we allowed her to use half of her deposit to rebook at Easter in spite of the fact we lost a weeks money. I had no idea she was so unhappy about it!!
The entire building was painted a couple of weeks before her arrival and the front parking area was weeded at the same time. Inside, the entire apartment was professionally painted a couple of months before and our furnishings are the best I have ever seen in a rental property as we renovated and furnished it for our own use. There is a quality leather double sofa bed with mattress which is still like new, a large leather corner sofa with huge comfy upholstered seats, waxed pine side board and table and chairs and a quality kitchen with built in fridge. We have a huge marble fire we had installed to be in keeping with the Georgian property and solid pine floorboards laid, again to keep in character.
We also have a jacuzzi and although the bedroom is small, it well furnished with quality waxed pine furniture.
The entrance hall at that time was white and has since been painted magnolia and pictures hung on the wall to make it even more attractive.
We had the large arched front windows refurbished as they are the original Georgian ones and therefore listed and they can be a bit temperamental but then they are a few centuries old!! We replaced the pedal bin long ago. We had a battery igniter for a short time until we replaced the hob in the kitchen.
We would never have a rusty frying pan in the apartment, nor a broken handle although this lady left blood all over the bed sheets and towel which we had to throw away and I suspect the cause had nothing to do with a cut!
The bedroom window had a new catch on it fitted a couple of weeks before her stay, although if you were to jump out of this window, you would fall some 15' into the garden entry to the basement!! I suggest you use the back door!
We have had the garden stripped out although there is no mention of a garden in the listing. At some time we may plant things, but it is kept clear throughout the year.
We now provide linen for the bedroom in the price although we haven't increased our prices. We would NEVER leave dirty sheets on a bed although this lady thinks it's ok to leave her blood!!
PLEASE do not let this fabricated review put you off coming to Seashells. It is our second home and maintained for us by a wonderful couple, who, like us, will do anything to ensure you enjoy your stay (well almost anything!!)
Please look at our other feedback, we have so many lovely people who stay regularly and really love it as we do.
Faye and Gill :-)

"Great venue for a relaxing break"
Seashells is located just a few feet from the beach and sea and is a comfortable large flat in a Georgian property. The lounge is very spacious, light and airy and there's a modern kitchen set into the arch. The property easily accommodated the four of us and our medium sized dog.
Lovely walks along the beach and promenade and plenty of good fish & chip shops ettc at this traditional English seaside resort-we even spotted seal! In conclusion, we all had a great weekend staying at Seashells.
