About this location
The Dorset region
Dorset is a county of great beauty and our holiday home is just a few miles from its finest sandy beaches and breathtaking scenery.
With so much to see and do here, you are located on the prime Hampshire/Dorset Borders with the luxury of countryside and beaches.
The best way to see what the area has to offer is to get out and about, however on your travels I would recommend
Avon Beach - stunning blue flag with licenced cafe http://www.avon-beach.co.uk/
Mudeford Quay - great for crabbing, boat trips, home cooked food, fresh fish http://visitdorsetandhampshire.co.uk/things-to-do/crab-fishing-in-mudeford-quay-christchurch-dorset/
Highcliffe - with its stunning castle and beaches and superb golf course course

"Lovely house, great location for visiting New Forest and local beaches"
The house is really well presented and equipped and was beautifully clean. Plenty of space and the 2 bathrooms and additional toilet meant there was no waiting around in the mornings! The garden was particularly enjoyable, especially as we had some good weather so were able to have a barbecue.
The location of the house is really good for visiting the New Forest and the surrounding areas. We only went out to eat one evening of the 3 as we really enjoyed eating in. And, even as 4 adults we enjoyed the cupboard full of board games!
Christine could not have been any more accommodating and helpful, which made the stay completely stress free.
We would definitely recommend the property to both groups of friends a families who either just want a quiet break away from home or some more adventurous activities. Excellent value for money.

"Beautiful house close to beach and new forest"
Just come back from a week at Forest View and would highly recommend this holiday house. The decor and furnishings are of high standard and it is modern, very clean and homely. The house comfortably sleeps 4 adults as it has 2 double bedrooms (one master en-suite) and a 3rd bedroom with twin beds which we used as a storage room for suitcases etc. The twin room is the smallest as fits 2 single beds and a chest of drawers and it would be suitable for adults or children if happy with minimal floor space. The house is so beautiful with everything a family or group would need so this is a minor consideration.
The owner Christine is very helpful and provided a list of recommendations in relation to what to do and where to visit and helpfully answered any questions I had (verbally and via e-mail).
There is so much to see and do around this area and it is close to Peppa Pig World, a choice of Beaches and the New Forest. There is a large Tesco's and Sainsbury's close by for food as it is self catering.
We ate at Similan Thai http://www.similanthai.co.uk/ at Christchurch which was very good and there looked to be some good country pubs which we did not try on this occasion as cooked in most nights as the house was a pleasure to come back to.
There is parking for 2 cars outside the house and everything in the house is immaculate so no need to bring bath/tea towels/linen etc. We had our 2 year old daughter so she made use of the booster chair and travel cot in our room (as the master en-suite so spacious). Travel cot comes with mattress covers and baby blankets so no need to bring.
If looking for somewhere immaculate, homely and of high spec would recommend - enjoy!....

"A Five Star Experience"
We were a little worried when we saw all those light carpets and we had two under 5's with us. But we had bought an oil-cloth to go under their chairs and we took our shoes/boots off on the slip mat(which didn't!) inside the front door and so the carpets were as good when we left. The level of electronics made it a home from home, with a BT home hub supply broadband for the duration of our stay. As mentioned, mobile connections were a bit iffy. The Walkford pub was an easy stagger and good value for money. The forest was just across the railway cutting, which we hardly noticed. Parking was close and easy. Kitchen was well equipped and the milk, bread, butter and ice-cubes were a nice touch, enough glasses for any meal.
One word of warning for sat-nav users- don't use Walkford Lane its un-adopted! and so only partly paved. There are other similar lanes so caution is to be advised.
