Home description
This is a newly constructed modern first floor apartment in a block of 18 with underground parking and a communal wellness facility, which includes a Jacuzzi, sauna, infra-red room and relaxing loungers. Each bedroom has its own en suite shower room. 2 bedrooms have kingsize beds and the third bedroom has a king and a single. There is a secure ski locker with heated boot dryers and a coin operated laundry. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a spacious living area with a TV and DVD player.
It is located in the centre of the typically Austrian picturesque town of Wagrain surrounded by fantastic countryside.There are plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained both in summer and in winter, including a superb all year round waterpark the kid's will love! There are also a number of good restaurants and cafes, as well as a baker, deli, chemist and large supermarket, all within walking distance. In winter, the ski bus stops 10m from the door and there are 2 gondola stations also within a few minutes walk.

Austria is a country with stunning scenery, fantastic cities and an all year round warm welcoming hospitality. In summer, Austria is an adventure lover's paradise with lush green valleys filled with the exquisite colours of spring and summer flowers crowned by snow-capped peaks and spectacular mountains criss-crossed with sparkling streams and shimmering crystal-clear lakes.
In winter, it is a skier's paradise. The Ski Amadé region of Austria is a network of 28 ski areas and towns that combined, make up the largest ski area in Europe. The resorts are linked, either by ski lifts or by free shuttle buses with journeys lasting no longer than 20 minutes. Situated just 45 minutes drive from Salzburg or 60 minutes by train, the ski area ranges from gentle family friendly runs to the World Cup Downhill at Zauchensee and has an excellent snow record.
Wagrain area
In winter - Wagrain and the interconnected villages are a skier and snowboarder's paradise with over 850km of outstandingly prepared slopes and 270 modern lifts. Forests flank many of the ski runs and in addition there are over 250km of groomed trails for cross country and Nordic skiers. The slopes cater for all abilities and are particularly family friendly with plenty of slope side restaurants. There is also a purpose built Children's Ski World. We have negotiated special discounted rates for ski hire and lessons for our guests at the local shop, please ask for details on booking.
Wagrain also boasts the fabulous "Wasserwelt" water park which is open all year round with indoor and outdoor pools, flumes and a relaxing spa and sauna area for the less energetic.
In summer - Wagrain has over 140km of marked hiking and walking paths and there is even summer skiing available on the nearby glaciers. The marked trails make it easy to explore the surrounding mountains and marvel at the fabulous scenery either by bike or on foot. There are several bathing lakes and lake beaches within easy reach by car. Tennis, golf, fishing, climbing and horse riding are just some of the other activities on offer in the area.
Salzburg is less than an hour away and is well worth a visit at any time of year. Attractions include a large zoo, river cruises, museums, theatres and excellent shopping. The Christmas market in December is fabulous and the 'Sound of Music Tour' is always a popular trip.
There are 3 supermarkets and a selection of bars and restaurants in the village. Daily delivery of fresh bread and pastries can be arranged with the local bakery. There is also a selection of sports shops, a bank, delicatessan and a medical centre.
How to get there
Salzburg is the closest airport at less than 1 hrs drive. There are many direct flights to Salzburg several days a week from most UK airports, including scheduled and charter flights. Other airports less than 2 hours drive are, Klagenfurt, Munich and Innsbruck. Although a car is not essential as everything is on your doorstep, it is recommended if you wish to travel around. Car hire is readily available at the airport or transfers can be arranged for you. Please request in advance. Alternatively take the train from Salzburg to St Johann im Pongau, then bus or taxi to apartment. Easy to follow directions will be given prior to departure date.

The living area provides comfortable seating for up to 7 guests with 2 sofas and a single arm chair. One of the sofas is a sofa bed which will sleep up to an additional 2 persons. Media equipment includes a TV, DVD player with a selection of DVDs, an ipod docking station and high speed Broadband internet connection. Each bedroom has its own en suite shower room with wash basin and toilet facility. The king size beds are made up with 2 single duvets. Practical additions include a hairdryer, iron/ironing board, travel cot and high chair. Under floor heating is standard throughout the apartment with individual room thermostats.
Further details outdoors: The large balcony extends to 2 sides of the apartment and is furnished with 2 tables, 7 chairs, 2 sun loungers and a BBQ. The basement has a secure ski locker with boot heaters and a shared wellness area with sauna, Jacuzzi, hot cabin, showers as well as relaxing loungers. There is also a coin operated laundry here with washer and dryer with a 2 euro charge for 2.5 hours use. There is a numbered parking space within the underground garage and all areas are only accessible by key card. There is direct lift access from the garage to the front door of the apartment

There is an 80 euro cleaning charge payable locally, in cash, on arrival, on collection of the keys. 20 euros will be charged as a deposit for the keys and refunded on their safe return This apartment is not suitable for party people, pets or smokers. Saturday changeover during ski season. Flexible at other times. Please note: Many local attractions close during October and November.
