The Michelin starred restaurant of Nathan Outlaw is located at nearby Rock and other fine dining is available within a short drive at Port Isaac, the charming ancient harbour where the TV series Doc Martin was filmed.

Washaway is located very close to the Camel Cycle trail, once an old railway line that runs between Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. This is a popular local attraction and cycles can be hired locally. Washaway is also very close to the beautiful country house Pencarrow, open to the public and where the grounds are celebrated for their annual snowdrop display. Just three miles away is Wadebridge with its plethora of shops, restaurants and excellent cinema. Within a 20 minute drive are the famous sand dune beaches of Daymer Bay at Trebetherick and Rock and the wide surfing beach of Polzeath.

"The perfect holiday home - and fantastic hosts!"

Parklands is undoubtedly a special place. On entering the gates we smiled with joy as we drove along the driveway to the main house to collect the keys. The gardens are stunningly beautiful - thanks to the loving dedication and hard work of the owners. The setting, on the edge of woods is picture perfect: with the promise of a variety of wildlife.
The warmth of the welcome from Heather added to the sense this holiday would be one we will remember with happy hearts for a long time.
The bungalow is spacious, stylishly decorated and furbished to a high standard. It is clear everything has been thought through with the comfort of guests in mind.
The addition of a small information folder to explain use of oven, heating, other electrical items e.g. TV would be useful. Also improved water flow to the hot water feed to the shower and kitchen tap plus thermostat control of the bath room water taps which reached scalding temp. very quickly. These are suggestions and not criticism.
The tranquil beauty and quality of accommodation combined with fabulous hosts enhanced a wonderful holiday on the North Cornwall coast. Thank you: Heather, Peter, and Olwen.
