Have now stayed at the Stable twice and been thoroughly impressed. Location is great, within easy reach of Wadebridge, and handy for Padstow and numerous beaches. Cottage is really nicely appointed, good quality furnishings & fixtures, and is the sort of place you instantly feel at home in. We first stayed last summer, went back in Feb & have already booked again for the summer. Rooms are all a good size, great to have an ensuite. Good WiFi included, log burner made the winter stay really cosy and plenty of space for up to 6 people. |

Just returned from a week at the Stable. Lovely cottage, decorated to a high standard and very modern & cosy throughout. Beds are really comfortable and the en suite in the master bedroom is a nice touch. There's a traditional pub (Earl of St Vincent) located behind the cottage (less than 10 yards away) we were there over new year and never heard any noise from the pub. They serve probably the nicest pint of Tribute I've had in Cornwall, although we ate there one lunch time and the food wasn't great, but still a nice quirky pub. You have to walk around the stable up the lane next to the church to the pub, but only takes 3 minutes ish to walk around. The Stable is well located with Padstow 15 minutes away and the Newquay area around 25 minutes away. Maria the owner is on hand should you need anything and offers a great personal touch to the holiday. We received a welcome pack, which contained all the essentials as well as some scones, jam, clotted cream, mince pies and a bottle of wine. Will definitely return as will the rest of the family that came with us. Would also definitely recommend Cornish Retreats. |

We stayed at The Stables with two friends last week. I would describe us all as veteran, very fussy holidaymakers. The house was absolutely spotless (including cushions, rugs etc - other cottage rental owners please note!), wonderfully warm and cosy and extremely well appointed. I have never stayed in a cottage that offers fluffy white dressing gowns! Beds soooo comfy. There was a very thoughtful welcome package and basics in the kitchen. Quirky pub 3 minutes away. The owner was unobtrusive but made it clear that she was available if we had any problems. Honestly couldn't be faulted. |
