The Island of Malta region
Within seconds of waking, you can step from the apartment and into a blissful, safe sea, in the midst of magnificence and majesty, for you are in the heart of the earliest settlement of Malta, which became the first Maltese city of the Knights of St. John, and later the British Naval Headquarters for the Mediterranean for 150 years.
The Hypogeum, a world heritage site, is accessible by direct bus from the village of Vittoriosa as are the Tarxien Temples close by to the Hypogeum. DO BOOK your ticket(s) for THE HYPOGEUM on the internet before you leave home as tours do get booked well in advance. Go to: www.heritagemalta.org/hypogeum.html
The area is particularly popular with local fishermen. For those who love to fish, your meditative companions are more than likely to be Maltese. An inviting outcrop of rock immediately below the apartment is ideal for you to fish from. In addition the marina is popular with locals too.
Vittoriosa area
Vittoriosa is one of the towns designated 'city' by the Knights of St. John. The atmosphere is steeped in history and intrigue. A profound sense of silence and peacefulness embraces you as you saunter through the streets of ancient houses and dwelling places. The church of St. Lawrenz dominates. Vittoriosa has been a popular film location and some of the buildings have featured time and again in films that you may well have seen. The Count of Monte Christo, Gladiator, and Troy were in part filmed within the Three Cities.
An international marina now plays host to an increasing number of super yachts from all over the world that come to berth for days at a time. Cruise liners gracefully glide into the Grand Harbour of Valletta, and these you can watch from the balcony of the apartment. Life on the sea is constantly rolling by. Always a quiet dignity prevails, and you can truly 'just be'.
The Maritime Museum is along the waterfront, and several small museums within the city walls. The Inquisitor's Palace is close by. From Vittoriosa square you have access to a swathe of exceptional restaurants with inspiring marina views: 'Sottovento', 'Manchurian', 'Tate' and 'Two and a Half Lemon' to entice you. There's also 'Twist', an ice cream bar here too. 'Cantina', and 'Del Borgo' are wine bars with food options ... all within easy walking distance of the apartment.

Guestbook for Seaside Fort St Angelo
Wow! We were blown away by the location: the stunning view... not overlooking anyone or feeling overlooked, ...being one minute walk from proper Maltese living... and only fifteen minutes from the capital via water taxi. The apartment is ideal for young families - no steps, easy to make toddler safe and an outside that is like another room! It was everything that your web page advertised and more. (Beccy and Family, UK. )
It almost goes without saying that we have enjoyed our week in Malta enormously. The apartment is excellent and easy to relax in. Vittoriosa is great for wandering around in and the perfect place from which to visit the sites - a short boat ride from Valletta and a cheap ricketty bus to wherever you want to go to. (Sandra and Colin UK.)
Luckily for us that we so fell in love last time that we had to return again. This time we didn't have a holiday... we came home to live in Malta for a week. Thank you so much for the wonderment of it all. (Mary and the boys UK.)
We enjoyed Malta very much, and the apartment was brilliant... perfect for young families. (Michelle and Adrian, Berkshire UK.)
We all had a great time. The apartment was of a very good standard and your welcome was appreciated. (Sue, Richard, and David, Northampton UK.)
Thank you for a wonderful stay. The place is so peaceful. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. (Adrian and Sarah, Hampshire UK.)
We have both delighted in this wonderful ambience of contentment and relaxation, appreciating deeply an opportunity to escape from toil and hassle. (Elizabeth and Pat, Essex UK.)
