About the home

Il Molino is a 250 hectares estate owned by the same family for generations and well known for its organic extra virgin olive oil.
Organic extra virgin olive oil and other organic products are available for tastings and for sale in the farm's mill.

Il Casale is an independent three-bedroom residence in a beautiful and relaxing environment, the ideal choice for quit and unwind holidays suitable for those that ask respect for nature and at the same time looking for modern comfort. The villa was completed in 2008, light three bedrooms each with fitted wardrobes, fully equipped kitchen, spacious living, lounge with a wonderful old fireplace and dining table seating 8, outdoor dining facilities, loungers, bbq, extensive terraces around the pool overlooking the valley and shady areas under the olive trees.

The Lazio region

Set in rolling hills in the beautiful countryside of upper Lazio, Il Molino farm lies on the gentle slopes of Montefiascone sweeping down to the Lake of Bolsena shores, close to Tuscany and and Umbria borders, an area where the Etruscans, the most civilized people of ancient times, settled since the 8th century B.C. This region is well known as ancient Etruria.

There are many places of history to visit such as Viterbo, Villa Lante in Bagnaia, Montefiascone, Civita di Bagnoregio, Bolsena, Orvieto.
During the summer time (June, July and August) climate is hot and dry. May, June and September the climate is cool. From December to March it could be cold and rainy.

The Viterbo / Montefiascone area

Montefiascone dates back to Etruscan times, in fact Montefiascone was built on the hill the Etruscans chose for the "faun voltumnak" a fortified site they venerated much as the Greeks venerated mount Olympus.
Today Montefiascone is an important italian centre of wine and olive oil production, with numerous cultural attractions, such as its 12th century church of San Flaviano, its 16th century cathedral (Duomo) of Santa Margherita and Rocca dei Papi ( the 13th century residence of popes). The garden of Rocca dei Papi offers a spectacular panoramic view of upper Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria from its 650 metres of altitude.

From Viterbo follow the direction north to Siena, after few kms turn left take the S.P.7 and follow the direction to Marta. At km 9 turn left and follow the path to the property. Detailed instructions will be provided on booking.

The season for pool opening is mid may to September.

Cleaning: final cleaning is included in weekly villa rental price

One set of bed and bath linen per week is included. Beach/pool towels are not provided.

Electricity and other utilities (except heating) are included in th villa rental price.
