Home description

The holiday home lies 2 Kms from the village of Giove in a hilly position (200 meters). From the property you have a panoramic sight on the valley of the Tevere. The position of the house allows to quickly reach the principal cultural and naturalistic beauties of Umbria, northern Lazio (and Rome) and southern Tuscany. From the property in only 10 minutes driving you are on the highway Rome-Florence (you will not hear the cars passing). The house (furnished with care) has 4+1 sleeping places and is situated at few meters from the swimming pool. It's also possible to eat outside under the large equipped & covered terrace situated in front of the pool. The owner lives in the adjacent villa (30 meters distance) and uses also the pool. The position of the villa and the holiday homes guarantees enough privacy to the guest and the owner. The owner has 3 peaceful dogs (Golden Retriever).

The Lazio region

The property is situated on the Lazio/Umbria border.

LAZIO
Everyone know Rome but in the region Lazio there is much more to see. And then Lazio is also flanked on the west by the Mediterranean Sea with its crystal clear colours and numerous islands and in the east by the Apennine mountain ranges, well over 2000 metres. In Lazio nature and culture come together in every way. It is too little known that Lazio is also a region with various splendid lakes. The lakes of Bracciano, Bolsena, and Vico, to name the most important.

UMBRIA
In Umbria, a region that has gained a name for being the green heart of Italy, tourism is growing because of the unfamiliar harmony between nature, antiquities, historic centres (the landscape is dotted with many picturesque medieval villages) and culture. In the region immigrants from other countries of the European Union are also settling or buying second homes. The quiet of the countryside, good provisions and an inimitable cuisine are the great draw. Rents for houses are lower in comparison with Tuscany. Main cities to visit: Perugia, Orvieto, Spoleto, Assisi, Todi, Gubbio but there are also many charming little towns and villages.

Viterbo / Giove area

Giove lies 85 km north of Rome in southern Umbria, a region that has gained a name for being the green heart of Italy, and also because in the last 30 years the woods in Umbria have become ever more beautiful and more extensive. Tourism is growing sharply because of the unfamiliar harmony between nature, antiquities, historic centres and culture. In the region more and more immigrants from other countries of the European Union are also settling or buying second homes. The quiet of the countryside, good provisions and an inimitable cuisine are the great draw.

It forms an ideal starting point for enjoying the peace of the surrounding hill and mountain landscape and on the other hand making at least 40 trips by car to sparkling towns like Todi, Orvieto, Narni, Spoleto, Viterbo (15 to 40 min.) or Perugia, Gubbio, Spello, Assisi, Tuscania and Tarquinia on the coast with a magnificent little museum of Etruscan art and Etruscan tombs with 2,300-year-old frescos (60-75 min.) or somewhat farther north the Etruscan ruins at Volci. You can also easily visit places in the southern part of Tuscany by car such as Siena, San Geminiano, Pienza, Cortona, Senalunga, etc.

Many tourists visit Rome once or more times from here, by car or by train from the stations Attigliano and Orte. In the more immediate surroundings there are numerous charming little villages - of medieval origin - which are increasingly being renovated for weekend and summer tourism.
