The Lazio region
Casa Renata's ideal location, situated only 60km north of Rome and 160km south of Florence, allows you to enjoy this regions diverse attractions. The beautiful cities of Rome(40min drive),Florence(1 1/2hr),Orvieto(35min) and Viterbo(15min) are all easily accessible by car. Alternatively the railway station at Orte(15min)is the main junction to all major destinations. The stunning lakes of Bracciano(40km), Bolsena(35km) and Vico(15km) all provide excellent beaches and watersports, as does Lazio's and Tuscany's delightful coastline. A mere 40 minute drive from Casa Renata takes you to the Etruscan beach town of Tarquinia famed for its archaeological sites. Throughout the entire province of northern Lazio can be found many good Etruscan and Roman archaeological sites.
The Viterbo area
Close to the villa is the beautiful walled medieval town of Viterbo(12km) which offers an array of museums, galleries, bars, discos and restaurants, together with its larger supermarkets. It also houses the famed health spa 'Le Terme dei Papi' ,for those who want a little pampering.
Soriano nel Cimino is just one of many picturesque medieval villages dotted around this area.Others nearby include Caprarola with its beautiful Palazzo Farnese and Bagnaia with its famed Villa Lante and gardens. Each one of which celebrates their own village festivals at different times of the year. Soriano's famous,'La Sagra della Castagna' or 'The Chestnut Festival' is celebrated within the first two weeks of October. Here you can enjoy medieval shows and processions of a time gone by and have the chance to partake in the celebrations held at the local 'taverna's' and taste the fantastic regional cuisine.
Standing at 1,150 metres just behind the town of Soriano is the vast wooded nature reserve of 'La Faggeta' . Guestbook for Casa Renata
A simply wonderful location! We went before the pool was built so now Casa Renata is a definite must for this years holiday! Perfect for children.
Brian and Karen, West Sussex
Casa Renata has provided a wonderful base for our first two weeks of married life! The house is one of the best equipped we've stayed in. The welcome basket was much appreciated. What a view! We enjojed it every morning over breakfast and every evening over a glass of wine. The fruit trees in the garden added to the charm. Head to Civita di Bagnoregio for the 'village in the sky'. The Duomo at Orvieto is definitely worth the drive. With regards to the lakes, Vico was our favorite - with the pedalos and look out for the geese! Viterbo merits a visit for the nights and the shops. Wonderful restaurant at Montefiascone 'Ristorante da Cavalla'. Thanks to Alberto for keeping the pool in great condition...and we haven't even mentioned the BBQ!! Yum!

We love this area, it's positioned in the ideal spot to experience all the regions best kept secrets, northern Lazio's lakes, cities, villages and beaches. We'll be back again soon!

Grazie Daniela and co! The house is very well equipped and the garden and the pool are absolutely brilliant. We had a fabulous stay in and around Soriano.

Fantastic villa and pool. Beautiful surroundings. Visited Rome twice via train from Orte - very easy. Local lakes were excellent. 'Due Camini' was our favorite restaurant in Soriano - lovely food and friendly service. Alberto was excellent also. Thank you Daniela. All round a superb holiday, didn't want to leave.
Debbie and Phil, Suffolk
Definitely a small piece of paradise. The air up there is really fine, morning and evening. Lovely casa, you could stay there happily all day, but it's a great base for getting around too. We found Viterbo a buzz.. Lakes are lovely, Bolsena a favorite, find any bar or restaurant by the water and take it from there. All in all we chose a beautiful place to spend some quality time and so have you! Many thanks Daniela and Alberto, hope to come again sometime.

This was our second trip to Casa Renata and we've loved both visits. Considering this is the only holiday place we've returned to I think that says something! The villa is amazing, even if the pool was cold in the October weather. We visited Rome twice in our week here. The Vatican is a must. We loved the whole holiday and we'll both recommend highly and probably return for a third time! Brilliant. (Stuart)
I was really pleased that I could sit out and enjoy the lovely sunshine whilst eating my breakfast. The colours of autumn were amazing and to be able to walk round in T.shirts was a lovely feel after grey England. Would recommend a visit to Tuscania and Tolfa. (Marilyn)

I am definitely going to miss this beautiful villa, pool and views of the castle. Really felt like we have sampled a taste of true Italian culture. The lakes are amazing and Rome was awesome. Meals out all amazing. Some days we just stayed around the pool and at night had some brilliant BBQs. Alberto made our stay all the more welcome from the welcome he gave us at the villa, to the way he cleaned the pool and grounds to ensure this place stays looking amazing. Great time had by all. P.S Thanks for the olive oil it was delicious.
Natalie and friends, Bradford
Had a great week at Casa Renata, the boys thought the pool brilliant. Had two days in Rome. Had some lovely meals out our favorite being Due Camini, really friendly staff and great food. Would definitely come back to explore further.

From the moment we saw the house we loved it - the garden and pool are wonderful. We had everything we needed in the house to cook and enjoy local food in the garden while watching fireflies and enjoying the view of the castle. So thanks Daniela for a lovely house to stay and Alberto for looking after it so well. Pablo the children loved to see him.
