The Northern Mountains region
Beira Alta is a traditional Portuguese province in the central part of the country with vast plantations, river valleys, mountains, and castles. The two main cities of the Beiras region are Guarda and Viseu. Other historic cities: Pinhel, Sabugal, Trancoso. Other cities: Tondela, Mangualde, Santa Comba Dao, Seia, Gouveia, Meda. The city of Viseu, once the capital of traditional Baira Alta Province, is now in the new Dão-Lafões subregion, which is part of Centro region. Guarda is now the chief city in the new Beira Interior Norte subregion within the Centro region.
Viseu / Ribeiradio area
Casa de Ribeiradio is located in the centre of the country near many river beaches. The beaches on the river Vouga are the cleanest in the country. This is a fantastic area with several tourist places well worth your visit and activities for radical sports lovers.
On the left bank of the Vouga river, the river beach of Ponte de Pessegueiro offers beautiful natural spaces and leisure and sport activities including canoeing, recreational boating, and other water sports. There is also a children's playground, picnic tables, and bathing areas.
Close to Casa de Ribeiradio, you will find a small supermarket with everything that is necessary, a butcher, several restaurants, cafés & bakeries, newspaper agents, banks, and a petrol station. A van with fresh fish, bread, fruits & vegetables, comes to your door 3 times/week. The doctor centre is 12km away, a supermarket 10km away, river beaches 12km, and pharmacy 12km.
How to get there
Ribeiradio is located at 5km from the exit of the high-way A25 and then A1( Lisboa-Porto); it is at 70km from the airport Sá Carneiro-Porto. In case of reserve, we send the coordinates of the location of the property and sketches for a better direction. To reserve the flight, it can consult some of the sites.
