The Tuscany region

Enjoy staying in the heart of beautiful Tuscany. There are many fascinating cities within easy reach: Florence Km. 45, Lucca Km. 55, Pisa Km. 55, Siena Km. 70 and the seaside (Viareggio Km. 75) are well worth a visit and will offer you many different magical and cultural places to visit such as Volterra, San Gimignano and Certaldo.

If you like a good drive then you can loose yourself in the tuscan countryside: there are many scenic routes to choose from.

If you like good food there are many local produce to try: Chianti Montalbano, extra virgin olive oil, truffles from S.Miniato, Empoli artichokes, brigidini from Lamporecchio and wafers from Montecatini as well as special dishes like ribollita (bread soup), florentine steak, wild boar dishes, arista ( pork roast), porchetta, pecorino (sheep milk cheese), fried courgette flowers as well as gelato, focaccia, chocolate and many many more.

Vinci is a small farming village by the Montalbano hill located between Florence and Pisa.

The Montlbano hill is a very interesting place to explore as it was the hunting reserve to the Medici family and it has many historic buildings and villages.

Vinci itself has a museum dedicated to the life and works of Leonardo, a library that conserves copies of Leonardo's manuscripts, and a copy of each book ever published on the life and works of the great Renaissance genius.

Each year from April to June there are lectures and cultural events to celabrate the life and works of Vinci most famous citizen.

In the village there are shops, a small supermarket, a weekly market and a good selection of bars (coffee shops) and restaurants.

During the summer there are a lot of village fétes and "sagre" that offer traditional dishes and entertaiment at reasonable prices.
