Home description
San Celemente is literally a walk across the road to safe, uncrowded shingle coves. It's in a quiet residential area with shops and restaurants within walking distance. A short village bus or car ride, or even walk, away is the town of Vinaros, with its long, sandy beach, water sports and palm-lined esplanade with many small bars and restaurants. (There's a village bus stop near the house - join the locals ...). The house has a child-safe above-ground pool (a saline system with no chlorine, so safer for eyes and skin), satellite TV, air conditioning, ceiling fans in all rooms and all home comforts for a wonderful holiday - or as a base to see some of the most exciting unexplored areas of Spain.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Costa del Azahar region
Costa del Azahar is widely regarded as the last 'undiscovered' (ie unspoiled) area of Spain. A holiday near Vinaros provides an ideal base to see some of the most stunning mountain, sea and landscape sights you could wish to find. A quiet holiday can be guaranteed - but a car ride can take you to more lively activity. Vinaros is the first town you come to on the Costa Del Azahar after leaving Costa Dorada, and is positioned on the coast on the same latitude as Majorca.
Vinaros / Zona Barbiguera area
Vinaros is a traditional fishing town surrounded by mountains with attractive villages and towns [see booklets in house or visit TIC on seafront] There is also a lake in the mountain area with fishing. The nearby town of Peniscola has a mediaeval castle and very attractive cobbled streets and alleyways with numerous quality craft and jewellery shops and Benicarlo, between Vinaros and Peniscola, has a lovely marina, which is quite lively at night. A few miles up the coast to the North near St Carlos de la Raipita [market Saturday] is the Delta area with amazing wildlife, a tourist info centre and restaurants. And Vinaros itself offers watersports, a working traditional fishing port, marina [a good place for lunch - and no need for membership], splendid architecture, many historic buildings including a mediaeval church, and numerous bars and restaurants for all prices and tastes.
How to get there
THREE AIRPORTS are within easy reach by car, served by Ryanair, EasyJet and British Airways among others. Reus is the closest (approximately 1 hour). Valencia (approximately 1 ½ hours) and Barcelona (approximately 2 hours). RAIL. Vinaros is on the main Barcelona-to-Valencia line but car hire is recommended, available at all three airports. You can take the toll road or the coast road. A lovely journey either way. Directions upon application.

Guestbook for San Clemente
Rosemary and Tony Collins (UK) : We had a SUPER time in your LOVELY house, thank you very much. We didn't do a huge amount...went to the reservoir, couple of villages, drove round delta, went to Morella; and Peniscola and Vinaros quite a few times. Liked the fact that Vinaros is unspoiled by tourism and still a normal Spanish town, and no English people!! Kitchen very well equipped, an impressive choice of pans, bowls and utensils!
M Delagrange (France) : We have had a wonderful time in your house. We found every thing we needed and more. We also used the documents you leave there and it was useful to choose our visits. The house was perfectly cleaned and fresh when we arrived. Everything was perfect.
Mr and Mrs Curwen (USA): Many thanks for a wonderful visit. Vinaros is a lovely town and we have fond memories of our visit there.
The Haycox family (UK) : Just to let you know we are now back home and back to reality after a wonderful stay at your villa. Everything went as planned and we had a wonderful relaxing time - all the arrangements were spot on and your local knowledge notes were most helpful. On behalf of all of us I would like to say a big thank you.
The Booth family (UK) : It was holiday we promised ourselves … relax … tour … sea … relax .. pool .. tour. And relax.
